“Good 1st visit”

Lovely hotel entrance leading through to lovely gardens and 2 large pools. The building itself is not amazing but the gardens are beautiful and the staff dedicated to keeping them that way. Rooms clean well fitted. On the plus the restaurants charge the same for room service as going to them in person, no added taxes and charges. Staff very friendly and helpful, on the downside, the Internet, and wifi are dearer than London prices, which is poor, the other point is so many older people go every year mainly British unfortunately, and book the beds around the pool, and never use them. During a 3 week stay 1 woman had 2 beds and umbrellas to herself, and 6 beds were occupied for less than 2 hours a day, but many people were looking for beds, the pool boys were doing there best but the supervisors were not, as they knew everyone by 1st name. Desperately needs a voucher system

“A pleasant place to spend a few days”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights after and exhausting 12 day tour of Thailand and we found it very comfortable with large rooms and beds, excellent buffet breakfasts and pleasant staff. The practice of people rising early to put towels on the sunbeds is still going on (mainly elderly Brits) which is contrary to the notices around the pool which states beds not occpied for over an hour will have the towels removed for other guests to use them, it definately need enforcing by the pool staff. The cost of using internet in the lobby is extortionate at 200THB for 20 mins considering if you walk for 5 mins out the entrance lobby, to the left, into the village it costs 20THB for 20 mins. Excellent food at the Family Restaurant also in the village and about 11 tailors shops if you fancy having a suit some shirts made otr treating the wife to a new outfit! Although the description of facilities for the hotel says private beachfront, this does not mean private beach, it is a public beach so you do get the odd vendor walking along but they do not pester, if you say know they usually go away. Be carefull in the evenings if you are sitting in the lobby as we found it was infested. with mosquitos, that were attracted in by the lights, as there are no walls at each end of it. We paid extra for a room with a sea view but due to the height of the trees there is not much of a sea view and we were on the 6th floor so unless you are desperate for a glimpse of the sea I wouldn't bother paying the extra.

“Another great relaxing holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We have just returned from our second holiday at this resort, and again loved it. We found the staff much improved this year, noticably more friendly and helpful. This was great as one of the things that surprised us last year was that the staff were not on the whole as good as we expected, and it certainly looks as though some work has been done in this area.
At check in they welcomed us back and offered us the same room as we had last year, overlooking the pool and beach which we were very happy with. As it wasn't ready for us early in the morning when we arrived, they gave us a superior room to have a sleep and shower and we moved into our room later in the afternoon which was great.
Unfortunately we found the same problems with most of the sunbeds around the pool being saved very early in the morning for the mainly elderly long term stayers who just sat round the pool, day in and day out. This hasn't been dealt with adequately by management, as I suspect they do not want to upset them, but it does annoy other tourists who want to sit round the pool to find there is no beds left by 09:00!
We mainly sat on the beach where there was a nice breeze so didn't let this bother us.
Again we did not eat in the hotel at all as we spent every evening in the village to the left of the hotel, Bang Kwai, where there are several good restaurants and bars, and lovely friendly people to make your holiday special. We especially love the Bluebell bar (congratulations on the new arrival on 4th Noo) and the fantastic owner and all the staff at the Mermaid Restaurant, not to mention the lovely food, who made our holiday so special again.
The drinks and food in the hotel, although not expensive by UK standards, is considerably worse value than outside.
We had 4 massages in the spa and these were fantastic and very good value compared to the UK. Obviously not as cheap as on the beach, but the atmosphere, aromatherapy oils, and attention was second to none and well worth the higher cost. Highly recommended.
One thing I must also mention is the beautiful flower arrangements which are changed very regularly, and the lovely shady gardens which are very well kept.
I see one review said this was a 5 star hotel, my tour operator said it was 3 star, well it is certainly the best 3 star I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, and we may well be back again next year, as so many people we met both this year and last do.

Room Tip: The Deluxe rooms have a sea view although some may have palm trees in the way

Honestly speaking, this is the worst five star hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is not great, staff not that friendly and not that helpful.
I could not recommend to anyone.

“Top service, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Had 7 nights here, and we oived it! The staff was very service minded, and genuinely cared about their guests.

Breakfast buffet a bit pricey, but the selection was very good. The restaurants have great food, but for authentic Thai atmosphere, head to the nearby village. Much cheaper, and a cozy atmosphere.

Average age of guests are high, and the hotel quiets down very early at nighttime. Not for partygoers.

As all other resorts, there are some early birds laying out towels on sunbeds then going back to sleep, but we still found beds at 10am, so not a big isdue. A bit annoying though.

Beach area nice, but no facilities there like sunbeds etc.

Their Chinese New year show was fantastic!
