“A lovely relaxing holiday”

This was my 7th year at this resort the Regent Beach chalets are right on the beach
in a lovely tropical setting with palm trees all around the resort.
I normally go all inclusive but thats getting quite expensive so for next yearI have book room only . I have eaten in the village aprox half a mile away or 10 minute walk which is cheaper than the regent. I found my room to be clean and tidy, towels changed every day , Staff very helpfull you will love this holiday if you are over 40 a bit quite if your younger than that although there are several bars in the village. night market in Hua Hin most nights + Tesco and lots more shops Taxi return apox 600 BTHS.

“Great for a relaxing break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2011

A perfect place to take a break although wouldn't want to spend more than a week cos it was pretty quiet. The chalets are very well equipped and nicely laid out in well maintained gardens. Hotel had a good library if you like reading. There's a small shop at the hotel and with a fridge in the room was great to be able to stock up on a few snacks and drinks. Resort is right on the beach good but a lot of jelly fish so just used pool. The beach was great for long walks and shell collecting but not really a sunbathing beach. Only used the hotel restaurant for breakfast and there was excellent choice. Ate either on the beach or in the village which you can get to on foot or via the golf cart which drops you at the minimart from where you walk.
I'd say this was an excellent hotel if you want to relax, everything seemed to stop at 10pm, even in the village but i don't think I could spend much longer than a week. There seemed to be a lot of older guests who stay for months but that would suit them.

“Gem of a hotel, the perfect place to relax”

Just come back after two weeks of total relaxtion at the chalets,We were late arriving due to a delay at Doha, but from arriving at Bangkok airport to leaving at the chalets we were so well looked after, the delay didnt matter.
The chalet we had was a good size, having a king size bed, colour tv with a choice of english channels, two of them movie channels, well stocked mini bar in the fridge, but we brought our own stuff from the local 7/11,hotel did'nt mind. The Chalet was cleaned to a high standard everyday, and clean towels every day.
The chalets are located are in lush jungle type gardens, which are well looked after, which added to the feeling of privacy.
The swimming pool is a good size with plenty of sunbeds and pool towels.
We ate in the hotel restaurant a couple of times a bit expensive compared to the local restraurants in the village but the food in the hotel was very good.Same about the hotel masseur you can get cheaper on the beach.
Over all a gem of a hotel in an excellent location.

“A Great Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Regents Chalet Hotel in Thailand.

Accommodation: This was exactly what we were expecting. The rooms have air conditioning, fridge and a TV. The staffs were very nice and make a real effort to make sure you have a good time. There were very few people staying at the hotel when we visited. One thing to note is that there a number of earlier reviews on this site for the nearby Holiday Inn hotel which is now a separate location but was once part of the same complex

Trips. Firstly we went on the one day trip to the Bridge on the River Kwai. This was a great day out with lots to see and do. We also included the Elephant riding option which was excellent fun. We also went on a Temple tour to Petchburi which we would also recommend.

We found that we could ask at reception for a golf buggy that would take us close to the local village. At the end of the evening we would then ask the porters/watchmen at the nearby Holiday Inn to call for the buggy when we wanted to return

Eating out: My wife and I spent the majority of the time in the village. We had lots of lovely meals at J&Ks and Sawasdee. At both places we were made very welcome and the price of the drinks and food was approximately half of that in the hotel. Sawasdee also have a noodle cart which serves some of the best noodles I have ever had. These were only 30 baht and were an ideal snack.

Shopping: I had 2 suits made and my wife had a top made at Kings Fashions. We are extremely happy with the results. Karamat was very efficient and courteous. We bought numerous other local treasures but dont forget to do a bit of haggling - its all part of the fun.

Overall we really enjoyed our time here.

“Beautiful location - quiet, atmospheric and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

We stayed here after a couple of days in Bangkok. It was fantastic. We are a family of two adults plus three children (12, 9 and 6). We had asked for two chalets nexct to each other and got two chaletls with an adjoining door which was brilliant. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have a good sized balcony. There is a good sized shower room and a fridge as well. The chalets are surrounded by trees and green vegetation and a short walf rom all chalets is an excellent swimming pool which caters for all ages. Other facilities include a full sized snooker table (small charge), petanque, an exercise bike and treadmill and a library area with lots of books.

The swimming pool is right by the beach. The sea was baking but not clear blue. There were also lots of jelly fish around so we didn't swim in the sea although we did jetski (£10 for half an hour from a guy who walks up and down the beach). The beach was fascinating with loads of tiny crabs in places and lots of beautiful shells.

Best place to eat is the Little Shop - 300m on the left from the chalets. Great breakfast, great snacks, great dinner and friendly service. Another good find was the Beach Shack which is about 400m to the right of the chalets along the beach (but not accesible by this route at high tide - you have to go via the village). We only found this place by chance on the last day of our holiday but it has free pool, free internet and they also do a great massage and hair braiding etc plus good varied food.

The village has various other eating places but we preferred the above ones because of their location. There are quite a few shops in the village, an internet place and an ATM. Everyone was friendly and DESPERATE for business as it was soooo quiet.

We did various trips from Cha-am using local taxi drivers and bargaining hard. We went elephant riding (very expensive for Thailand but good fun). We also went to monkey mountain which was good, had a good day out at the very touristy Floating Markets, spent an afternoon and evening at Hua-Hin (about £8 return taxi fare) and also went to Cha-am itself but chose the wrong day (Sunday) as it was packed out.

We fully intend to return to Cha-am at some point and the Regent Chalets was an excellent place to stay.
