“That's what i call "peaceful"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We've been staying in this hotel with friends October 2011 for a week. We got to Regent Chalet by car from Bangkok, it's about 200+ km to south-west. It is situated 10 km south from Cha-am and 20 km north from Hua-Hin.

We've booked a double chalet. The rooms were really cosy: made and finished of wood. A small terrace was a great place to sit for nights and gamble with pals.

The Regent's Chalet pool was very big and clean. You can rent various balls and play some games in it. An evening bar has attractive prices for drinks - they will be included in the bill when you check out.

The food was ok but a bit expensive. We preffered to take rides to Cha-am and Hua-Hin and eat there.

The sea is "just around the corned", you can reach it in 3 minutes by foot from your chalet. But in October the sea was very dirty because of flood in Bangkok, so we didn't spend much time on the beach. But we took some bikes in the nearby rent office and did some cool rides around Cha-Am and Hua-Hin.

We recommend the Regent Chalet Cha-am Beach to everybody who loved a quiet and peaceful rest in the center of nowhere. I would really like to get back there someday.

“Relaxing, peaceful holiday, chalets clean and beautiful gardens.”

We enjoyed our stay at the Regent Chalets in Cha Am, to begin with we were met by a representative at the airport. She made us feel very welcome, we then travelled by private taxi to the Regent Chalets. Upon arrival we were greeted very warmly by the staff and offered light refreshments while we waited for our room keys and check in. Our chalet was very spacious and clean, we had a fridge which we could put all our drinks and any snacks in. We also had a funny looking kettle so we were able to make tea. Mostly we were out during the day either on trips, shopping at the local markets or relaxing by the pool. There are so many places to visit, all of which can be arranged by the hotel staff or as we did, just by sorting out the price with a local taxi driver. They would take you to your destination and either wait for you or meet us a few hours later depending on what we wanted to do. They were always very obliging and their prices very fair. We tried several of the local restaurants in the village of Cha Am. One in particular The Family Restaurant, was very welcoming and the food was excellent. The owner Renee and his staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Renee even arranged for a pair of my jeans to be altered by a local tailor, and they did an excellent job of altering them. When it was our last night in Cha Am we were given flower garlands by Renee which was a total suprise. I think just about everyone we met in Thailand was so friendly and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our time there and would love to go back again.

“I relaxed to the point of inertia.”

If you want a rugby scrum at mealtimes, noisy crowded bars, drunken loud louts, herds of screaming kids, don't go! If you want lovely chalets in beautiful grounds right on the beach, really good food, happy attentive staff,a good sized pool a short stroll to a village, a short ride to a town and the chance to dine under the stars with gentle music Go-Go-Go!

“A fine, but not perfect place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

We stayed here for the third time after 2006 and 2007 and were a little disappointed on what the place became.
Our first stay in 2006 was perfect, also the 2007 vacation was great.

It still is a nice place to relax but the rooms are getting pretty old and they don't seem to care. Also the breakfast is not half as good as it was in 2006. Room-service is okay, the staff, especially at the front desk, not very friendly.
There is no free internet available and the one at the front desk is very expensive.

We ate at the restaurant (the one at the beach) on one evening and it was very expensive, not much food and we had to wait for 45 minutes until it was served (and it was far from crowded, only like 10 people eating).

All in all it was good for the price we payed. But we know how it was before and so we were a little bit disappointed.

“Really Good Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Was really pleased with this hotel as I wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews are quite old.

We booked this through Thompson worldwide and got a really good deal in comparison to others who went through Saga.

The rooms were good really spacious kept clean everyday there was no minibar they just provided a fridge and replenished the water daily they also refilled there version of a kettle. there was no safe in the room but the deposit boxes in Reception were secure and you had to sign everytime you wanted to go in it.

Pool was a good size.

It was a really friendly resort and the village was friendly also.

Many people keep returning to the Chalets year after year and the locals remember people and look after the returnees.

We eat in a few places whilst there which included Family, J&K (English food also does thai) Wan she looked after us our first night cooking for us at 10.30pm when most places had shut uthe kitchen she even offered to drive us back to the Chalets. We also went to Little Shop along the beach
