just spent one hour at the gems hotel cha am , dont know who took the photographs of this hotel but i can only say that they are brilliant photographers, they made a complete dump look wonderfull, why do people do this to clean living human beings, the reception area smelt of cat urine , the bedrooms were filthy , the carpets and bed linen were heavily stained and the curtains were extremely smelly and badly stained , the ceiling in the room was black with mould and the mattress was heavily blood stained, when we complained we were treated very badly , we were told that the cleaners must have missed the problems and they would send them to re clean the room , how they were going to remove the blood , the stains on the carpet , and the mould of the whole of the ceiling is beyond me, , we were informed that they had no other rooms that were any different and we would have to put up with it , we phoned our rep, she pretended she no longer understood english and that her office was not open for four days due to it being their holidays ,i then tried to contact the travel agent in england SOUTHALL TRAVEL who put us on hold for ten minutes then cut us off ,we phoned back and asked to speak to someone who could help us in this horrendous situation , the said they would get the manager right away but cut us off once again , we decided we had no other option but to abort our long needed holiday and booked a taxi back to bangcock where we had to pay to stay in another hotel, please be advised that the GEMS hotel in cha am is not as described on their website , it is very dirty and scruffy , the cats are allowed to roam anywhere within the the hotel and the overall hygene is attrocious,we are now back home and have no desire to pursue any type of compensation claim due to the fact that to pursue this issue would remind us of the worst hotel we had ever had the misfortune to ever walk into .
