The quality of service was very poor . The staff seemed unexperienced and didnt know what they were doing. The room was alright but the balcony was never cleaned as I noticed bird feces all over. The food in the restaurant was the worst thai food that I have ever tried in Thailand and was always served cold. This hotel is not as good as expected for the money we paid and I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had booked ourselves a Stay and Play Golf in early January. Unfortunately, this was the peak season, and we had paid double the rate to get a room. We have learnt from our experiences staying in accommodation provided by any Golf Clubs, not to expect too much from the quality of the room and the quality of service. Well, what you would expect is a clean room, good shower and a frim bed. What we got was not what we expected. For three nights, we suffered through a dirty dusty room (full of old furniture which badly needed a real cleaning and reburbishment), shower curtain and rubber bath mat which are mouldy, showers which went hot and cold (and I mean really burning hot, and really icy cold!) on its own, and soft beds. What made it worse was the other occupants were rowdy Koreans who banged their doors, kicked the furniture and spoke so loudly. Good heavens!
Nevertheless, all is not lost - the golf course (36 holes) was in good condition, caddies are knowledgeable and experienced! And the staff in the restuarant and reception desk quite attentive.
Just play here and stay somewhere else!

My wife and I live in Bangkok and although not avid golfers nowadays we have been in the past and have stayed in a number of golf resorts in the country. Lakeview has always been one of our favourites and we went back here twice in April for weekend stays.

The course itself is made up of 4 nine hole courses...two 'standard' 9's, a 'desert' course and a 'links' course and with 36 holes it doesn't get too busy. The course has a good balance of difficulty so will suit all levels of players and we've always found course condition to be good. To come in from outside and play it for the day costs similar to other courses in the area at around Baht2,500 per person all in.

What makes Lakeview so good for us is the resort itself. The rooms actually feel like hotel rooms and are nicely furnished, clean and a good size. The resort also has a decent pool with Jacuzzi, tennis courts, snooker room, and a children's room and play area. All of this mean that there are things to do after your round of golf and also makes it a good option for non golfing family and friends to stay.

As you would expect, the resort is quite a way out of the main town (Hua Hin) but a regular shuttle bus service is provided in and out of town. The only real drawback for us is the two restaurants on site which are OK but could be better - we usually head into Hua Hin.

The best thing about the resort however is the golf/accommodation packages that they often offer. The offer available during this stay was one nights accommodation plus a round of golf for two people for total Baht 3600 (excluding caddie fees of B250 each). If you want to play an additional round of golf the same day you only pay another caddie fee and another round of golf the following day is only B800 each. Note that these offers aren't always shown on their website so it is worth contacting them directly to see what is available.

Overall we love the balance between golf and resort and with the offers available it is extremely good value for money.
