Looking for a place to stay on the way to Phuket and ended up chosen Takolaburi in Pangna. We booked the hotel from the travel fair at Queen Sirikit 2 months earlier so that we can spend a night here and then go for a day-trip to Similan island (later we learned that you can take speed boat direct from Phuket).
The hotel was nice and spacious, full of 5-star hotel services like gym, massage, outdoor activities, they even have small area for chipping some golf balls. The hotel was decorated in a Thai style roof top, lobby and restaurant area was very nice, however, the room was too much like a block building and too much concrete.
Location wise, the hotel is a little far from other places, however, we're ok as we drove our car. Its nice to walk along the beaches in front and there are some nice restaurants along in front of the hotel.
There are lots of mosquitos as the area surrounded by bushes but you can always ask the insect spray from the hotel. Not very fond of the swimming pool as it is on the back of the hotel (not facing the beach).

Not a 4 star resort.
Deluxe room are big but not cozy at all.
The cleaning of the rooms is not good. Our Shower and bathtub was not cleaned for 14 days.
The beach was full of coralls and we had to go to the WhiteSand beach.
The water around the area smells like sewage.

This hotel is excellent. The staff are very serviceminded, food is great (not cheap though), many activities and a funny taxidriver. The beach is not so good, but it takes 5-15 minutes to walk to nicer beaches.
If you want to go to a nice beach, here is a direction: Walk out from the hotel, go right and then right again (past a couple of restaurants, Talay travel and then a minimart. Straight ahead, past a shrimp farm (right side), then look at left and you see a sign " Walkway to Boat Yard", and then just walk on the gravelled road and follow the signs of the boat yard.

Its a very quiet place, the hotel has no disco and the area is quite romantic.
