Great bungalows on the beach, very quite. Night life not so far away if you want that.
main road is about a 1km walk.
Would reccomend this to singles and families.
Nice swimming beach and great for walks.

We stayed here in January at resort 1 for five nights and thought it was excellent. We stayed in two ground floor apartment rooms which were only a short stroll to the restaurant, pool and beach. The pool is lovely, (even has a swim up bar) the restaurant is right on the beach, and the location is absolutely perfect for Kao Lak. It is an easy walk up to the town, and there are also lots of restaurant options right along the beach within easy walk. There are plenty of deck chairs on the beach. The service was excellent; the staff were all very friendly, the food at the restaurant was as good as anywhere else we found and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this hotel - from the others we could see from our beach walks it is one of the pick of hotels and very good value for money.

Stayed 4 nights early January 2012 with my 6 year old son. Stayed in Garden Bungalow and I must say that this was a great choice. We were in a bungalow 2nd from the beach and could see the ocean from our balcony. Outside shower was fantastic. Rooms are modern, flat screen TV,DVD, coffee and tea, in room safe. The beach is fine for swimming and if you don't like swimming in the ocean, then there is always the swimming pool. A GREAT resort and I would come back to stay again!!!!!

Stayed here in high season, Dec 16-18, 2011. New resort, post tsunami. There are two Nang Thongs, and we stayed at "NangThong2" which is south of "1" and I think a bit smaller. The rumor I heard is that 2 is smaller, intended to be more laid back, and is managed by the family that owns the lands in the area. We paid $182 for three nights, a real bargain for new construction, tastefully appointed, with a pool and nice beach access. The restaurant seemed a bit overpriced, but for the beach side location it is hard to complain. The front line staff were super helpful and attentive. No fitness facility but the beach is a very nice place to jog. It appears that north is the only way to jog from here as right after the resort to the south are huge rock croppings along the coast. It is about a 15 minute walk from the main drag "Petchkasem Road" via Soi Nang Thong Road, and it is a pleasant and interesting walk with lots of engaging shop owners hawking their wares, but in a low key Thai friendly way. We didn't always buy stuff, but we always had pleasant chats with people. This hotel is simply a great bargain for what you get, and located in an area in which you can get everything else you need very reasonably.
