First stay at Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort after several visits to hotel in Phuket (Kata Beach and Karon Beach). Best stay ever, highly recommended and will be back!

We have been 7 times at the Orchid Beach since it re-opened after the Tsunami. It continues to be a wonderful place; quiet, off-the beaten-track, allowing long beachwalks without disturbance by beach-vendorsetc., and with a wonderful restaurant at the beachfront. One should know that there are no shops or other restaurants within an easy walking distance, but there is a half-hourly shuttle service to the more touristy areas in Bang Niang an Nang Thong.

We had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly except for the bar manager who wouldn't help me when my Pad Thai did not arrive after over an hour. The pool was clean and spacious and the massages were amazing. The sea was lovely to look at but people were getting stung by jelly fish. The hotel's location is unfortunate because it is not close to good restaurants so you feel a bit isolated. We were a group of 14 people with children and the kids loved it. It wasn't too crowded and the facilities were ok. The restaurant provided average service but the food was pretty good. I think the hotel was good value for money.

We stayed at the Orchid for our Christmas holiday 2012 and we enjoyed it so much we are looking at going back 2012! The rooms were great, spacious, mini bar inexpensive. Food was good and not over priced, this surprised us as the hotel is in a very quiet spot so they could have taken advantage of this but they didn't! They offered a shuttle bus into town all day for when you wanted to venture out. Staff were so polite and welcoming, faultless in my view. It was my son's birthday when we were there and they gave him a gift and present. Plenty of space around the pool and gardens, plenty of sunbeds for everyone - no need to get up early and get your towels out! Massage facilities in the gardens, same price as in the town, so again not taking advantage of the customers. Beach beautiful, clean and quiet. You could walk 20-30 minutes down the beach to other bars and restaurants. They arranged an elephant trek for us, great value and other trips were on offer or you could book them in town if you wanted to shop around. In our party of 4 families ranging from 2-48 no one had any complaints. Best holiday I have ever had!
