“Superb in every way”

We have just returned after spending 16 glorious days at the amazing La Flora, we stayed in a pool access room, definitely the right choice, rooms 801 - 816 are south facing so you have the sun from 1100 to 1600, 815 and 816 are quite close to children's pool area.
The hotel is located right on the beach, with absolutely fabulous staff, superb Thai food, just incredible.
There are trips available from the hotel, which are more expensive than most, but certainly worth the extra, we went to Tachai Island, there were 12 in our group, and were taken by speedboat from the hotels beach to the island for lunch, snorkelling, and beach time on the pristine white coral sands.
Excellent, we would also like to extend our special thanks to Jump and Jub from the View 59 restruant.

We spent 14 nights here in April/may 2011 for our 25th anniversary, we had a pool access room , well worth the money. We had a great time, the hotel was spotless and the staff excellant, a special mention for Tak our maid who was great throughout the holiday. The location is great right on the beach. it was our first time to Khao Lak, we have previously been to Laguna Phuket a couple of times and Hua Hin once along with Bangkok a few times. We enjoyed Khao Lak and found it cheaper than Phuket to eat and drink, although I have to admit Laguna Phuket location is hard to beat. Plenty of resteraunts and bars near buy were all great value as you would expect.

Room Tip: Pool access well worth it, but book early to avoid dissapointment.

“The fabulous La Flora”

Today we are leaving La Flora having had a wonderful week here. The la flora complex is well designed with lovely garden and paths and a beautiful infinity swimming pool. It really is as beautiful as the photos. The pool access rooms are realy good and would definetly recommend. Buffet breakfast has something for everyone and lovely tropical fruits, pastries as well as hot dishes. The spa treatments are also really good. There are a number of tourist shops, tailors and about 20 restaurants nearby and the main town is 2-3km away but easily reached by taxi (150 Baht) each way.
Lots of local dining opportunities -- would recommend Mali and Pinocchio's in the nearby street and My Friend on the beach. Also recommended is an elephant trek which was very safe and a wonderful experience. You get about an hour on the elephant walking through bush followed by washing her by hand in the river and then get to ride the elephant by yourself (bareback)! Recent government regulations have limited snorkelling on Surin and Similian islands due to damage to alot of the coral however the tour boats still travel there regardless. The northernmost of the Similian group (Koh Tachai) viaSeastar sped boat tour is a better bet. The coral is still suffering but there are plenty of fish to see and the tourist numbers are about a tenth of those on the main Similian group. The beach is also beautiful - very similar to the Maldives. A wonderful holiday.

“World Weary Traveller Finds Nirvana”

It was so nice to find a hotel which isn't part of a massive corporation, which offers excellent service and brilliant value. We stayed for a week over Xmas 2011, and we were delighted by the service, the style and rooms. We travelled with our two small children, and they were beautifully looked after. La Flora is chic without being unfriendly. And the food in the restuarant was incredibly good. The swimming pools are ample in size, and so is the beach area. Although we enjoyed our beach massages, THEY WERE NOTHING like as good as the massages in the spa (double the price, quadruple the quality.) A very, very good hotel. Compared to the competition, this one stands out for friendliness and value. We will be back.

“Seeking relaxing week, box ticked.”

Having checked out a couple of resorts in the area, we found deceided that we would go with La Flora based on ta's previous reviews.

We wanted a relaxing break and La Flora delieved. it claims to be a 4 star resort and it almost is.

The hotel is well mainted, reception area very nice and staff are very friendly. the rooms are a good size. The rooms by the pool area looked great, we stayed in the main area.

The bathrooms along with the bathroom towles could do with an upgrade in order to maintain the 4 star standard. The towels were a little too worn!.

The pool area and sun lounging area is relaxing, well maintained and plenty of loungers, the resort is literally on the beach so it is easy to jump in for a swim and then back up to the loungers.

The breakfast buffet was extremely good, good fresh selection of everything you would want.

We only ate in the hotel restaurant the first night, we ate at the restaurant on the beach to the right of the hotel, we went here for lunch and dinner most days, the food was really good and very good value for money.

If you are looking for a relaxing break away, La Flora is worth a look.
