We moved to Cousin Resort from a larger hotel because it was cheaper and had been recommended by friends. The service was very good and the rooms were clean. The pool was refreshing and often empty. The hotel is located close to lots of restaurants. Even though it was not on the beach you could walk to the beach easily and many places let you lounge on the beach for free. There was free Wifi and the library was full of books to borrow and read. The were friendly and easy going. There were families and couples staying there from different countries so a good mix of clientele. A great retreat at a reasonable price!

I have only good things to say about this resort. Lived there 2 times. Last time in 6 weeks. The owners (Song and Sun) and the staff is always smiling, friendly, helpful and makes you feel very comfortable. Now I'm back in Thailand again and have heard they have opened a resort on Koh Kho Khao (a small island north of Khao Lak) Here in February, I will visit the resort and I am convinced that it will be a pleasure for me.

Cousins might have been good in the past, but at present it is pretty run down. It is a bit grubby and frayed around the edges and we didn't find the staff as friendly and helpful as we have come to expect in Thailand. We only stayed two days of the four we had originally planned. You can find a lot of nicer places, in the same price range in Khao Lak.

We booked this bungalow early in the year and were pleased with the size of the bungalow and cleanliness. The owners and staff go out of the way to help you, We had trouble getting wifi in our room and they had an additional mast erected to boost the signal. We wanted to have a drink and breakfast in our bungalow and they gave us a kettle and toaster. It is very close to the beach and restaurants. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back stay.
