We stayed at Cousin Resort for a total of 6 nights during March 2011. Since we would be away on a couple of 3-day tours, and only wanted to pay for the days we actually stayed at the resort, we had to check in and checkout 3 times. Some resorts don’t like you doing that, but that was no problem at Cousin’s. The staff was very kind, smiling and always helpful. The rooms we had, lived up to our expectations, they were clean and with nice fans (we don’t like air conditioning).
There is free wireless internet in the reception area (good speed) and there is a nice restaurant in the resort (especially we liked their Phad Mama with chicken). The resort is like one big garden with lots of trees, bushes and flowers. There is a nice looking pool – we didn’t try it, since the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. A good tip: instead of just going through the Sudala resort and using their beach – try turning right (north) and go to the last bar/restaurant on the beach (can’t remember the name, it is something like 500 – 700 meters from Cousin’s). This is a really nice place and a lot less touristic
And if you like “beach trekking” then continue further north along the beach. There is a couple of rivers to cross (wear swim suit) but it is really beautiful and you won’t meet many people. There are a couple of nice bars/restaurants, so you won’t starve!

We stayed one week at The Cousin Resort and we enjoyed every minute.
The Cousin Resort is close to the beach and near to restaurants.
The pool is nice and the garden lush and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and very tidy. The terraces have comfortable chairs and it's very relaxing to sit there and look out over the garden after a day at the beach.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Later we stayed one week at the five-star J W Marriott. Of course, Marriott was very luxurious, but the fact is that we were happier at The Cousin with its intimate atmosphere and perfect location.

When we where in Bang Niang last year we stayed at a resort near Cousins. We liked bang niang a lot and felt that we would like to come back so we went exploring fore a cheaper and cosier accomodation. And we found Cousins. We hade a look and back in Sweden I found cheap fligthts and reserved cousins fore nearly three weeks. I alsaw booked transfer from the hotel. Everything was super from day 1 till we left. Small misschievs happend but where quikly sorted out. Our bungalow was faceing the pool and roomey and nice. We really couldnt ask fore a better palce to stay at a fair price. Already dreaming of going back next year. Like somebody wrote before me a lot of people return to this little gem and that says a lot I think. It was lovely and quiet, a perfect place fore a relaxing holiday

We have just returned from our second stay at the Cousin resort Bang Niang celebrating Christmas & New Year. Although the weather was not as good as 2009/10, we still had sunshine nearly every day. We were made so welcome on our arrival we felt like we were returning to family.
We stayed at both the Cousin Resort (inexpensive and welcoming) and the Ramada Resort (a touch of luxury and class!)
The Cousin Resort is not long on facilities, it does have a courtesy airport pickup, a reasonable restaurant if you do not want to be adventurous and an excellent small pool. Motor scooters can be hired, but I would advise anyone driving in Thailand to exercise extreme caution as there is little road discipline. Since last year an on site tailor shop has been added. The gardens are well laid out and the clean, air conditioned bungalows all have a very private feel. It is within easy walking distance of the beach and plentiful local shops and restaurants, but if you want more choice of food and shopping then the main Khao Lak town is a taxi ride away. Trips can be arranged by the Cousin to local attractions such as the Similan islands and scuba diving, but we had the advantage of a hire car, which allowed us access to the numerous un-spoilt beaches along this coastline.
I would advise anyone contemplating staying at the Cousin over Christmas or New Year to book early as it is becoming popular!
