To agree with many others, although it is nice that this hotel offers "Swissness," this isn't a place to have Switzerland type prices. I came to stay here when I 1st came to Sri Lanka because it seemed like a safe, nice place to stay close to the airport. When I came at 1am, there was a small snafu with my reservation, but it was handled and I got a room for the night, which ended up being the #7 room which probably typical Sri Lanka would be no more than 1500-2000 Rs. Instead it was 27 euros, ouch! I stayed there again on my way back and stayed in room #6, the "cheapest" of the room, which was 19 euros. The room was nice, but tiny and again, I think waaay overpriced. The food especially was super overpriced, 600Rs for the muesli for breakfast.
The atmosphere if very nice, there is free wi-fi by the restaurant, a nice breeze, nice decor, and loved the classical music that was playing. The staff was super professional and they all spoke English well. There were plenty of restaurants walking down the Beach Road, to the left.
Overall, nice place... if you are willing to spend some money.
p.s. On a random side note, Negombo has mosquitoes EVERYWHERE! All the rooms have nets and a mosquito-repellent plug-ins, but still come prepared with bug spray. I got bitten alive!
