We started our holiday at Goldi Sands which is only 20' away form Colombo airport. The hotel is just what you want after such a long flight from Europe. The rooms are big, luxurious,comfortable, and located in a beautiful surroundings at the beach and next to the pool. The hotel manager Mr. Lal and his staff were incredibly friendly and very professional. Food was excellent, or just take a drink and enjoy the sunset while the locals are playing football at the beach. Start your day, walk straight on to the beach where Nelson takes you arround on his boat along the mangroves, in a few seconds you have the holidayfeeling and are in a different world. Compared to all the hotels we stayed in during our 2 week trip, this was the best in terms of value for money. This is also the reason we finished our holiday here during our last 3 days. No need to book thinks in advance, less is more, and sometimes it is just nice to relax if you are feeling somewhere at home. There are enough guides who want to show you the island. We did not book to many things in advance and were with five (me, my wive and our 3 daughters). One of our best holidays ever, part of it thanks to Mr. Lal and his beautiful hotel

This is a superb hotel on the outer edge of Negombo, right on the beach. Tip - get up early and take a walk on the beach to see the fishermen coming in with their catch.
This hotel caters to a lot of Europeans and this is reflected a bit in the food offered at the buffet dinner, although there is a reasonable selection of Sri Lankan curries etc.
We were upgraded to a suite - fantastic rooms, we wished we had been satying longer to enjoy the luxury.
4 star service but amazingly the bar prices didn't reflect that!

This is a great place to stay in Sri Lanka after a long flight as it is close to the airport and has its own beach and pool.

The rooms are large and of a good standard and we had a good view of the sea.

The breakfast was good with plenty of options western or Sri Lankan.

We have just spend 2 weeks at the Goldi Sands. It was the second time at this hotel and our 7th visit to Sri Lanka. The rooms have been renovated from our last visit and are large and comfortable. We found the staff to be very helpful and always there to get me a cup of tea when I wanted one!. The food was very good and I especially loved the breakfasts. We travelled Qatar Airways and found this was the best flight we have had. Yes we will be returning in the near future.
