We stayed there for the last day in Sri Lanka. This hotel is very standard beach hotel. Nothing special to mention, as it is just like a lot beach resorts.

Positive side: rooms are clean and tidy, with the best facilities we have ever stayed in Sri Lanka. Standard Hotel

Negative side: the beach is just so so: raw and not that clean. The staff there is a little too "warm". Your responsibility is to serve your guest, rather than talking with them. I mean girls…….

We stayed for 2 nights in Negomo,
Big appartments with lage space, cleane, new.
Very good pool, fvery riendly personal and service.
Good breakfast.
Ask about ayurveda center with which they work. That a good massage and free transfer.

My husband and I spent our last day and night here in mid- January 2012 - before heading for the airport having spent two wonderful weeks in Sri Lanka.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was quite good.
Our room was spacious and comfortable.
It was ideal for a short stopover and convenient for the airport although I wouldn't have wanted to spend more than a night or two in this area.
Watch out for mosquitoes and wear plenty of repellent!

Had a horrible experience trying to check-in and stay at this "resort". Here are the irrefutable facts, plain and simple:
- My wife and I had a guaranteed reservation confirmation at Rani Beach Resort for one night, December 25th (Christmas Day)
- We arrived with the confirmation print-out in hand, only to find that hotel management had overbooked and no room was available (Merry Christmas! Here's a lump of coal...)
- The end of the story involves poor-to-nonexistent attempts at rectifying the situation, and a terrible night's rest at a shoddy hotel down the street

What frustrated us the most was management's and staff's gross negligence towards their "reservation" system and unapologetic attitude towards their inexcusable mistake.

Unless you want to waste your time triple and quadruple checking your reservation in advance of arrival, I'd steer clear. And don't believe any "We're so sorry" response they may post in response to this review - they had ample opportunity to make things right and chose not to offer a refund or comparable accommodation.
