OK
Don’t know where to start. This was one of the worst experiences in my whole life.
We booked this Hotel due a shortage of accommodation in this area. Anyway, after a long flight we arrived in Sri Lanka, our pick up was there , so we looked forward to have a nice rest after checking in.
The reception area looked clean and tidy, after the usual check in procedure, it was kind of bizarre that we got told , that the room is open and our keys are there. Ok fair enough, so the bellboy took our luggage and try to open the room without success. After returning from the reception desk , the bellboy knew the right room number and opened for us the darkest hole of hotel room I had ever experienced.
We booked seaview , but from our balcony I saw only a 40 ft container with the hotel generator. The room didn’t have any mini bar or any fridge to cool water.
The bed sheets were not clean, full of stains and holes. The bathroom was very special too, rusty bath tabs, shower gel on the floor from the guest before, dirty walls , cold water and not a piece of bath towel. So I went back to the reception to ask for a fridge and towels. We were to tired to complain about the rest of the room, instead we went to the main restaurant (buffet stile ) to eat something before going to bed . Service is completely un-attentive, after some time on the entrance we cached a uninterested service attended who walked by. He guided us to a table , were I still saw what the guest before had , as everything was still on the table. After he cleared the table , we got a new set of china ware and cutleries. We went to the buffet, and I really don’t want to go deeper into this, we just hoped that breakfast would be eatable !
Next days we went for breakfast, and our nightmare came true, the cut fruits and all the other dishes just placed on tables , not covered , fly’s everywhere. Hot dishes were cold, egg station looked very un –appropriate for a 3 star hotel. The coffee was burned , and we decited to have all our future culinary experience outside of this property. We thought to check out but considering our daytrips to sight seeing location we could survive. Some days later , they start to refurbish some rooms on our floor. Never minded of sleeping guest , at 7 in the morning I felt like sitting on a construction area as well the generator in front of our terrace kicked in at 8 am.
I stayed in a lot of hotel in my life , in different categories. If you take a tent and base yourself in Negombo beach you will enjoy it more. This Hotel is not even a one start property, I really don’t understand peoples reviews on this hotel. Ok guys you are paying 90-110 USD for something you are not getting!
