Great place by the sea. You feel relaxed the minute you enter it. Excellent food served by personal butlers. Chaturi the manager was very helpful. Renovated after tsunami. Good place to relax with children.

This is a beautiful property, the gardens the pool and the property itself just "class design". It is very well located for good local beaches and also for Galle town. The food and service are very good.
The rooms are lovely and really well laid out - all have outside space.
We had suites 1 and 2 of the Cinnamon Villa. This worked incredibly well for us as we have four young children and the interconnecting rooms makes life work!
The manager and all the staff went out of their way to look after us and we had a lovely stay of nearly three weeks with them. I would recommend Apa to all.
A hotel on a swimming beach is very rare in and around Galle, but Apa has a pool to die for which our whole family loved and is very close to the two best local swimming beaches at Thalpe and Wijaya.

Set on a picturesque beach, the location of the property is ideal for a few days of relaxation by the ocean. The villas are lovely, minimalistically decorated. My only problem with the design was the fact that the toilet in our bathroom was inside the shower, meaning that if we wanted to use it after taking a shower we would wet are feet. The bed linen and the towels were not in the best condition possible and from my experience, we had the same bed linen for 3 nights in a row. Only after complaining to the manager were our bed sheet changed, although she claimed this was done on a daily basis (I am sure this was not the case).
Most of the staff were really helpful as was the manager and went out of their way in order to help us. The pool was great and the sun loungers set on the deck right above the beach gave us a great view of the ocean.

We stayed at AV at the end of a 4 hotel tour of Sri Lanka, staying at the very best hotels on the island. The other 3 had all been simply amazing so we had high expectaions of AV. The location is excellent - right on a small but beautiful beach with the famous stilt fishemen right outside. The villa is just off the busy main road so there is a bit of an issue with road noise but nothing too serious. The rooms all open out into the garden with the beautiful infinity pool stretching right down to the sand.

We had a very warm & friendly welcome from the lovely manageress & the staff are all a delight. They arranged a Sri Lankan cookery class for us with the chef as well as transport to take us to their sister property Iluketia, up in the hills for lunch.

Our first impression was that AV did not quite match the luxury of the other properties we visited. We felt that the quality of the linen in the rooms was a little tired & we felt that the place lacked soul. However, the staff more than made up for this. Meals are taken on the verandah right outside your room & the views are amazing.

We were also a little disappointed with Iluketia. The setting is fabulous - a beautiful atmospheric colonial house in an amazing garden but again it had the air of somewhere that needed some repair. After staying at the incredible Kahanda Kanda (which is also a country property) we were glad that we had only come for lunch.

AV is quite poissibly the best palce to stay on this stretch of the coast - simple but stylsih & for a quiet few days relaxing on the beach at the end of a busy tour, it was just what we needed.
