“SO NICE!!!”

I stayed at this hotel because my sis conference there. I have a very high expectation to this hotel, and it never dissapointed me. The room is good since we take the mount view, The hotel garden was so so beautiful and we take a bunch of pic. Other than that, the staff was so friendly and helpful despite language barrier. I am so satisfied staying at this hotel and we will come back again for sure.

Room Tip: You can see mount halla from mount view room.that's all i can say.

Beautiful hotel that exceeds imagination. Wonderful staff that is very friendly and accommodating. The spas and pool were divine and the hotel grounds breathtaking. Rooms were nice and clean and the heated toilet seat a welcome comfort.

“Beautiful Grounds, Lovely Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Stayed here for a conference with my husband being the accompanying person. We arrived and were greeted by friendly staff. The room, seaview and poolview, was clean, spacious but the beds were firm/ (hard according to husband). The gym was small. The pool outside was immense and lovely with a couple of spas to the side. The inside pool looked rather uninviting in comparison. They had a function around the pool on one of the nights, which went on til late and was quite noisy, so ask for a seaview room without the poolview.

The grounds of the hotel are amazing and very beautiful - landscaped rock gardens, terraced gardens, secluded areas to sit and read... and even a tent-land area for people who want the 5 star tenting experience amongst the native flora and fauna on artificial grass. The grounds are continuous with the coast walk which brings you east along the coast for some SPECTACULAR rock formations, waterfalls and scenery. If you don't want to walk, just outside the hotel, we were able to hire golf buggies ;-) and drove them around the coast and even to a nearby temple and convention center!!! Otherwise, you have to get a taxi, to get around the island, if you want to go farther which is quite easy to do.

do your own homework on what you want to see around the island. I found the travel center unhelpful unless you specifically asked about what you wanted to see or do.

There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, breakfast buffet was amazing in it's variety for korean food and was served in 2/3 restaurants whilst the conference was on. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night, which I found ordinary (degustation menu too) and would suggest one to head outside for dinner unless you want the ease not travelling too far. For the adventurous, head to the restaurants on the main road outside - lots of authentic eateries with traditional fare or even a small noodle bar.

Wireless internet was patchy throughout the complex and very frustrating. Staff were very polite and efficient. Overall, Tranquil hotel with fantastic gardens and nearby rare volcanic scenery to while away the days, relaxing with good service, need transport to see rest of island.

Room Tip: rooms with sea but not pool view (incase they have a function around the pool)

“Spectacular for the sophisticated traveller”

What a great place. The grounds down to the beautiful secluded beach is the stuff of dreams. The spectacular lobby areas are so tasteful and grandiose without being ostentatious. The clientelle, highly educated and sometimes very wealthy koreans is the pinacle of sophistication.

I stayed there in October and what I remember most is taking a nap in the afternoon opening my balcony door and hiding under my duvet and falling asleep to the sound of the sea in the distance. What a place!

“Very Good Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Shilla Jeju for four nights July 11-15 to attend a conference. This is an impressive hotel with beautiful gardens and water features. I was expecting it to be remote but it really isn't. It is very close to a plethora of restaurants (including a very good Chinese place in the same plaza as the 7-11, across from a sashimi restaurant - less than ten minute walk away). The hotel restaurants are pricey, but there are many cheaper options nearby. What I didn't like was the daily charge for internet - given the price of the rooms it seems a little cheap to then charge for internet on top ... but wireless is available free in the lobby so it is possible to stay connected without paying extra. All in all a very good quality hotel and very comfortable stay.
