Hm. How shall I say this? I've never left a reservation early. Until now.
I've traveled in so-called developing countries and am used to roughing it. But when I stay in a hotel with any classification whatsoever (in the country's second largest city, let's not forget), I expect a minimum amount of hospitality and cleanliness. From Sangnam I received neither.
Let me put it this way:
1) The carpet is practically black. And sticky. No, I am not exaggerating.
2) Even the non-smoking rooms reek of cigarettes.
3) The rooms are absolutely filthy. There is grime and dust everywhere, including in the halls. I opened my dresser drawers to find trash. Literally. The mattresses have never been changed-- that I will bet on.
4) The bathrooms have a sign: "Please do not deposit your toilet paper in the toilet. Please deposit it in the wastebasket."
5) Air conditioning? Ha! Not a chance.
6) Concierge? Front desk person? Assistance? Ha! Just a couple of people who sit around smoking cigarettes in the lobby. Luckily I speak Korean, but at first I used English (you often get better service that way) -- don't expect much English service at all.
7) Expect no bathroom amenities or other accoutrements.
The one and only good point of this hotel is that it is situated near Beomosa and the bus terminal. But that said, being a camper, I'd rather pitch a tent on the grounds of Pusan University (where this hotel is located) than ever stay here again!
