When we decided to stay at the Homewood Suites, we thought it would be like your average Hotel . How wrong we were ! Bob and Erin greeted us with smiles and a box of chocolate candy.

We moved in the Friday after Thanksgiving and found three complete Thanksgiving dinners waiting for us in our suite refrig.

All the staff have made us feel very welcome and at home. Larry, the maintenance man even took the time to repair Donna's knitting needles. Where else would you get such fabulous service?

And that is not the end of surprises!

The Hotel is full of Christmas Cheer,especially in our suite. The staff surprised us with a lighted Christmas Tree with hand made decorations and a Christmas Card individually signed by each staff member and some special gifts for us

We have travelled each year for the past three years at Thanksgiving to spend with our cousin who plays hockey for your Albany Devils. Each year we have a hotel but this past year was the best....no fuss, no muss, easy peasy! Check-in was great even got in an hour earlier than check-in and that was perfect as we travelled through bad weather here in Canada making our drive longer. We arrived to a clean room and the kitchen was great. Any issues that we had were rectified quickly. The meals were superior and we were thrilled and greatly surprised when on Thanksgiving Day we had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the dressings. The pool and hot tub are great especially after a long drive. The laundry is also a plus as this means less packing and less dirty laundry when we get home and dry bathing suits! I can't say enough good things about the hotel...have already booked for Thanksgiving 2012!

First I must give the highest KUDOs to the Assistant General Manager Matthew D. Cudemo. I have completed over 30 years of active military service and now over 5 years of (civilian) government service and the staff with the leadership of Bob and Matt has made my stay at the Homewood Suites a true home away from home. The servicei s better than expected, 10 times above whatever the standards are at other places. Everyone is friendly and normally for the most part calls you by name..... Impressive! Thank you for the great attention to detail and caring about the customers that comes to the hotel.

The thing I don't understand about this hotel is how I can never seem to get a 2-bedroom suite!?? I try for months ahead of time & can't seem to ever find it available. This time, while I'm checking in, this man (by himself) checks in beside me. The lady at reception tells him that since he's a Rewards member (not sure of the level), he automatically gets upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite?!?! He was clearly surprised but happy and I was left grinding my teeth beside him and I squeezed five of us into a 1-bedroom suite. This is not a huge issue but I just don't understand why this happens. The other strange thing this time was a strange man hanging out in front of the hotel who approached both me (asked about my vehicle) and my family (in the car) while I was checking us in. I don't think he was a worker there though initially I thought he was some sort of valet and I'm not sure if he was a guest?!? I encountered him a third time when I tried to get in the door of the hotel at the side and neither of my keys worked so I had to go back to the main desk. All this being said, once we were settled, it was a great experience. Good pool, good food & nice location - close to shopping, dining & coffee. I would definitely visit again but all of these issues made it a slightly less than stellar experience.
