The only Pro about this place is that it's cheap, has a microwave and mini fridge, and close to downtown Albany.
I'm a young female, in between apartments and needed a place to stay right away. I checked in, received my room key and as I strolled down the lobby I immediately noticed the huge blotches of grime and dirt all over the carpet. This alone made me wonder if I made a mistake. Yes, I have.
However, due to the fact that I was a bit desperate for somewhere to lay my head; I needed to be ready for work Monday morning, I decided to go ahead and stay anyway. The room looked fine, but smelled...moldy? Did I mention the entire lobby had the same smell?
The toilet was obviously used and had some poop stains...yes, poop stains around the bowl. I was just glad I brought my Clorox Cleanup spray. Disgusting.
Yes, housekeeping will barge into your room regardless of your "Do Not Disturb" sign while you're at work. I kept my DND sign up for as long as possible (probably over a week). Why? If the toilets had poop stains that could easily be cleaned, why bother letting them in to do another poor job in my room. That's ok, I'll take care of things myself. My "fresh" towels were always waiting for me at the door. BUT *wait for the kicker at the end of review*
Here's another golden nugget that I thought you'd like to know. The bath water always comes out a nice mahogany BROWN before turning clear.
I stayed here for a very long 2 weeks. In my time there, a teenager was kidnapped and held against her will for prostitution purposes (this was also reported in the news). Many people smoked marijuana. Construction workers and day laborers roamed the halls and were quite loud. The front desk reception during the night-shift ...a haggard young woman with long hair (often kept in a pony tail) was very obnoxious, ghetto and often cackled with her friends in the lobby before finally assisting you with help.
Someone had rented out the dining area for their big, trashy Hip Hop party. And by trashy I mean there were grown, worn out, women with little to nothing on hanging all throughout the lobby; rowdy men with bottles of hard liquor in their hands. To top it all off, the night-shift front desk clerk walked past me laughing about how much she had to drink. No thanks.
The highlight of my stay occured while I was at work...
Even though a "Do Not Disturb" sign was posted, housekeeping barged in anyway. How do I know? I received a voicemail message on my room phone from the manager stating (very rudely) "Housekeeping must come in everyday regardless of the sign!! If you have any questions, please see me at the front desk!" I had enough. I decided to go elsewhere and pay just a little more for comfort, peace and quiet! Once I moved on to a better Inn, I noticed two of my belongings were GONE. Hmmm, must have been the day they walked into my room regardless of the DND sign. I could only imagine which one of the trashy, unprofessional culprits decided to do a little "shopping" in my room.
Stay FAR away.
