We stayed there on 2/14/09. The location was great (right across from Colonie Center Mall), but the room was small. We had guests stayed right above us and they were so loud that I could not sleep until 2am. We can hear people talking through the wall and ceiling and every time people drove into the hotel, we can hear them as our room was facing directly to the parking lot. The hotel provided guests with shampoo/conditioner, but they were too little that I wish I brought my own stuff. (There is Target near by...the hotel)

For the price this motel is awesome! There is a certain retro charm that is very welcoming. The people at the front desk, while not overly cultured, were friendly and helpful.

Major bonus: The restaurant in the hotel is an Irish pub that serves the MOST amazing steaks and ribs and has beer on tap. (The fact that it is packed with locals tells you it's the place to be.)

My room was big, warm and charming, clean, smelled good (I requested non-smoking) and the bed -- while not super luxurious --- was comfortable with a light pillow top. Nicer than most motels I've stayed at in this price range.

Winning Aspects: Free internet, free airport transport, restaurant on the premises, big rooms, clean bath, HBO, coffee maker in the room.

Drawbacks: Restaurant not open for breakfast (but there is a Dunkin Donuts next door.)

If you are used to luxury hotels and hate anything over 10 years old, then pass on this place. But if you are looking for an affordable place with old road trip new England motel charm then you will dig it.

The motel has two sections, old and new; we stayed in the old section, built in the early 50's. The outside is well kept but the inside has not been not been up graded to match the outside; this is a lttle deceiving to me. When we arrived the room was clean but the lights in the bath room were not working and the desk had a hard time finding replacement bulbs. The room is very small and very old for today's standards, using today's prices!!! One positive note, the continental breakfast was very good; they offered hot waffles, cereal, baggles sweet rolls, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juicy, and milk. The breakfast area was spacious and comfortable; there was enough food, even past 08:00. This is a family run business, who owns four motels since the 70's; if the inside was up graded to the outside, the price would be fair.

I'm used to go to motels, because they are convenient, with an easy access, and not to expensive. I'm used to sleep in not so fancy rooms, and I'm ok with it. Actually, I'm just looking for places where to sleep, bottom line.
But i'm not used to dirty rooms with hairs everywhere on the sheets, weird odors, sticky walls and carpet, unpleasant staff, people smoking and talking right behind my door, even AFTER midnight...
Believe me, the Cocca's Inn is really the worse place I've ever been. Moreover, it's not even cheap! Don't go there, don't recommend it. If there's no room left in Albany except at this motel, you'd better forget it and sleep in your car.
