“Hotel La Roussette has excellent location and it is best value for money”

We have been on Seychelles already several times with my family.
I truly consider them as the most beautiful tropical islands in the world.

Amongst our previous visits we have been staying several times at Hotel La Roussette, which I think is one of the best Guest houses on Mahe island.
The hotel has convenient location (close to Mahe international airport) as well as cozy and good-value-for-money accommodation.

It is just a step away of the ocean and you may rent small car at the reception.

“Great position on Seychelles, central on Mahe Island near Int. Airport”

My wife and I visited Seychelles last year and enjoyed Mahe Island very much. During the two weeks holiday, we stayed at Hotel La Roussette not far from the international Airport. We were very satisfied with the service provided and fascinating Creole dishes in the evening. We visited various sites on Mahe Island and also visited the neighbouring islands Praslin and La Dique. This guest house is simply unique; it’s clean, central and offers great value for money. It even has its own car hire. We are planning to visit Seychelles again beginning of next year to visit other outer islands together with our 3 children. We will definitely stay at Hotel La Roussette again.

“good value hotel close to airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2008

Good choice if traveler needs to be close to the airport. 6 minutes away.
Big room with AC, big bed, and good lights. The rooms around the small swimming pool are very quiet.
Good staff. They do a set dinner which was good. The breakfast is fairly poor (like most hotels we stayed in).
If you need to get on an early morning flight, this hotel is very suitable, as the taxi will take only 6 minutes to reach the airport.

“Nightmare!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2007

I went to the Seychelles with my partner and my parents for my cousins wedding. After a fabulous holiday staying in two different resorts on Praslin and La Digue, this was a place to stay prior to catching our early flight home on the Sunday- we knew it wasn't going to be 5 star luxury, but it doesn't even deserve 1 star in my opinion. It is an awful area, the worst of Mahe. Luckily we had a car so we didn't have to stay there more than the time to sleep. The place was a dive. It was filthy and the bathrooms were infested with ants. There were even a couple of cockroaches. The grout between the tiles was dirty and there was rust in the shower tray - how?! There was howling from the pipes anytime the water was turned on, or the toilet flushed. As if all that wasn't bad enough, the mattress smelt and the sheets were stained with what looked like blood. The lady who looked like the proprietress was miserable and her top dirty and covered in stains. To top it all off it rained during the night and with the structure having a tin roof, the sound was deafening. I would recommend that you DO NOT stay there. We were charged 118 Euros via the agent and I will be letting them know it was unacceptable. Whilst we were there someone was trying to book in and they were being told it cost 150 euros a night!!!! I wouldn't stay there again if you paid me!! We didn't have breakfast as we didn't want to tempt fate.

“A fairly basic functional hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2005

My stay at this hotel, which is a collection of closely spaced painted timber chalets situated in a walled garden, was pleasant. Although as I was on business I had little time off to enjoy the ambience.

My room was clean and contained a double bed, table, TV and fridge. Importantly it had air conditioning. The shower room was clean and functional if not just a little dated.

The food which was home cooked, took some time to arrive (well it was freshly cooked) and tended to be fairly plain but the quantity was more than sufficient for my needs. You should note that the hotel was fairly isolated and immediately borders a road. There were no street lights so a torch is needed to find your way around.

The sea was literally two minutes walk away across a road and through a hotel (empty at the time) which backed onto the small sandy beach.

A fairly basic no frills but functional accommodation.
