I stayed here 1 +1 day with my family. I don't want to waste anybody's time with a long story just portray the hotel very briefly.

Positives:

- fantastic view on the bay,
- helpfull staff,
- spaceous room,
- lovely architectural solution how the hotel built,
- aboundant breakfast.

Negatives:

- although we stayed a so called "superior" room I don't know which part of the room can be graded superior. The fit-out is very-very-very-very old. The mattress is uncomfortable, I felt the springs in my back whole night. The windows cannot be opened because I did not receive the keys.
The bathroom tiles cracked. There is only a very small and narrow shelf in the bathroom although the bathroom is very spaceous there is enough space to fit selves. there was mould in the old fridge. There are two chairs on the balcony but the cushion is covered with artificial leather so having 15 seconds sit there and the cushion sticks to the leg and back immediately.

The Xmas night diner was a complete rip off. If I remember well I payed 38 euro/person for a very average diner menu.

The hotel has a fabulous view of the beach and bay across the street/downhill. We booked last-minute off-season and found the proprietor to be very helpful. We were able to extend our stay each day as we slowly discovered Mahe. This is a great base to stay at, in order to explore Mahe with a rental car. Very close (by car) to other beaches like Intendance, Takamaka, Royale, Forbans, Soleil. Or 30 minutes from Victoria. Rooms are functional and large, ours had a small kitchenette, balconies with great views. Room was quiet, bed was good, firm mattress, nice shower, A/C & fan worked fine. You can order dinner each morning if desired, which we did our first night, and then wanted to explore other local restaurants. With the car, you can get to several restaurants in 10 minutes. Local grocery stores have very limited selection. It would require good organization and scouting to actually cook much in the way of meals, but breakfast & sandwiches are no problem.
We explored the whole island, and found the south to be absolutely the best, and the beaches within 15-20 minutes of Lazard Picault exactly what we wanted. Most beaches have no vendors or restaurants, so take water (and something to eat) with you.

The hotel is built onto the side of a cliff that has a fantastic view over Bai Lazare. Like most locations on the island you will definitely need a car to access the hotel (although there is a bus stop nearby on the road.)

The bungalows are very spacious, clean and comfortable however the shower had the unique feature of only dispensing hot water. Not really what you want after a day in the sun!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant at the hotel which was fairly average.

As it's built into a cliff you can expect a lot of steep stairs to get to your accommodation.
