“Easy to come - Hard to leave”

Traveling through Israel can be exhausting-all of your senses are engaged at full throttle all the time. Peace Vista delivers just what's needed for a brief respite. The property is operated as a contemporary kibbutz. If you ask, you may have the opportunity to speak to members of the kibbutz and hear their most interesting story. The "cabins" are comfortable and the breakfast, delivered to your door, is filled with freshly baked bread, fruit, yogurt and eggs.

“Lovely place, fascinating history”

These cabins are at the edge of the cliff overlooking the Sea of Galilee. The view is great and the hotel is beautiful. If you get a chance, speak to those who operate the hotel as their story is fascinating. In a country renown for their breakfasts, these shown. The cabins are large and have whirlpool tubs. There is a refrigerator and an eating area. The bedroom and the sitting room are separate. The beds are comfortable and the room is very clean. There is, in addition to the bedroom, a loft which can be used as a bedroom if couples are traveling together of if one is traveling with children. We stayed at 6 hotels on our tour of Israel and this venue stands out.

“Lives up to its name”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

Beautiful cabin, gorgeous sunsets. I could have stayed longer than two nights. I throughly enjoyed my stay. The breakfasts delivered to the cabin were so extensive that several of us pooled our leftovers, and with a few bottles of wine, we had a lovely dinner over looking Lake Kinneret (Sea of Gallilea). The spa experience is nice, but not a "must do" unless you haven't been to many spas. If you are a spa neophyte, I would say go for it. It was an interesting experience and the salt water pool was lovely.

Room Tip: Get a cabin in the front row!

“Relaxing, great suites with panoramic view over the lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2010

Firstly, note that there are two sections to Mitzpe Hashalom, the cabins and the suites. They are completely different and in different sections of the property. We stayed in one of the suites and didn't go into a cabin.

To get to the suites you walk through some flowered gardens. Our suite was very spacious, with a comfortable king size bed, eating area, and large jacuzzi. There is a deck with 2 deck chairs with a panoramic view over the lake towards Tiberius, and is obviously west facing so in April we had sun from around 11am until sunset. The suites also have large plasma TV's and DVD players. They also have a fridge with water and beer (free) and leave you a small bottle of wine. The breakfasts were more than we could eat. They possibly weren't very imaginative but the food was good regardless. They only make up the room once per day. There is no phone in the room so you need a mobile. There is free internet access.

The place is very tranquil. It is not near any towns and you definitely need a car. There is a restaurant on the property which was OK, but otherwise most of the restaurants require a minimum 20 minute drive. The roads are good but very windy to get up the mountain. This isn't a place you come for nightlife, it is a place to relax and explore northern Israel. Due to the elevation it is also cooler than when you are at lake level.

Price is relative. It is certainly better value than the much more expensive hotels in Tel Aviv where the rooms are a quarter the size. Generally Israel has become more expensive especially for Brits due to the £/Shekel. However I don't think £150ish per night is outrageous for what you get.

To find it on Google maps look for Kfar Haruv, it is next to it, about 100-200 metres south on the road. The restaurants in Northern Israel were good but unsophisticated. If you keep kosher and want something unusual we really liked Makom B'Sejera in Moshav Ilaniya. It is around 40 minutes drive and is expensive but serves game like venison, buffalo, pigeon, pheasant.

“Exceeded expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

I believe that the Peace Vista has both individual cabins and lodge-like accommodations. We were fortunate to be given a cabin, which we would highly recommend. The bathroom (with Jacuzzi tub) was spacious. The kitchenette/dining area was well equipped. The bedroom had ample storage space and comfortable beds. The living room and the front veranda were both comfortable and perfect for relaxing and reading. And the breakfasts!!!! Everything that the other reviewers have said is true. Superb! We did have one dinner in the adjoining restaurant, and found it acceptable but not extraordinary. We were on an all inclusive tour, so can't comment on the value.
