We recently stay at the Royal Plaza with a group tour. The hotel is nice the staff was very friendly and courteous. But the rooms were less than to be desired. You can tell they are working on updating the rooms, but they have a long way to go. We actually had a "balcony" off our room, but the lock on the door was broken and there was no furniture so it was just a place to go and take a few pictures. The dinner service was OK, but it was their breakfast that was a total cluster. If you are a coffee drinker you might as well forget it, not sure what that was they were serving but it wasn't coffee. The dining room was also very poorly organized for large groups, it just seemed to be a mass of people running into each other, and the quality of the food was sub-par at best.
