The Dona Gracia Hotel is not only a hotel but also a museum. It is a "theme" hotel on the life of Dona Gracia, including period costumes which the guests are encouraged to try on and wear! Our group of 15 (men and women) had such fun with these period costumes (16th Century Spain/Portugal/Turkey). We were a group of Senior Citizens, but had the fun of teenagers! They caused us much laughter and merriment. On the premises are period rooms from each stage of Dona Gracia's life, and an entire floor dedicated to dolls depicting her life. The first night we were there we saw a film about life in Venice in the 16th C. The next day we had a guided tour of the Museum.
The food at the Dona Gracia Hotel was varied, plentiful and tasty. At the evening meal there was always a choice of fish, poultry or meat. At the breakfasts there were abundant choices as well - pancakes, cheeses, fish, etc.
I truly enjoyed my visit to this unique hotel/museum. The atmosphere was pleasant. Everything was clean and neat.
