“Hotel needs modernising”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

Let's start with good points . Fantastic view of the whole of kinneret and large swimming pool with life guards. However, pool closed too early at 5 o'clock. The first room we had for a 4 star hotel was appalling. The carpet was badly stained and the room was very basic and tired looking. Went to complain next morning. Looked at second room - slightly better but still not happy, after breakfast we looked at a third room which was somebody's time-share. This was better, but we had to forego the balcony. In hindsight we would never have stayed there. Everything was written in Ivrit and we had to have it translated every day when we could be bothered. Met one other English couple who had also changed rooms.

“The Real Israel - Not Tourist Israel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2009

This hotel is a perfect example of true Israel. The hotel caters to the Jews for religious holidays and the Sabbath (Friday sundown - Saturday sundown). There were no tour buses there. The first few days it was just us and a small group of 5-6 from France. We wondered why no one else was there. Then came Passover and Shabbatt AND the hotel filled up with hundreds of Jewish people (young and old alike). It was a treat to be in the midst of all the people and their festivities. We sat in the lobby and watched the little children play. We ate breakfast in the morning and observed them communicating in Hebrew. If you want a TRUE picture of Israel and its people, this is the hotel for you. Then, you can really say you've been to Israel. It's in a quiet neighborhood and, YES, the view of the Sea of Galilee from your balcony will be unmatched by any other hotel. Surround yourself with the people of Israel, not the tourists from other countries. You'll be glad you did.

“Have to compromise for the brill view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2008

We booked this hotel through our time share company, which promises 4 to 5 star accomodation. I had seen photos on the web, and thought they looked ok, albiet a little tired looking, also although there where no reviews, the description given by various booking agents seemed very promising. It was nearly midnight when we arrived, and was allocated a room on the 8th floor. At first glance we could see that the decor and furnishings had seen better days, and the carpets were stained and threadbare. the kitchen area was fairly clean, however I could see that plates had been put back dirty, and the glassess had lipstick marks on them, also the fridge had part of its handle missing. I was initially dissapointed, however when we woke the next morning, I was greeted by the most amazing view I have ever seen from a hotel balcony, the sea of gallilee. We did go on to have a good holiday, and hence got used to the shabby accomodation, as the view seemed to compensate. The hotel really needs a refurb and updating, maybe then it may warrent its 4 star rating. I also want to add that be wary of the over zelous description of this hotels facilities, such as a welcome pack in the room and mini bar, as there was niether. Also the staff were not that helpful, and mainley catered for jewish families, as the vast array of activities were all in hebrew. I would stay at this hotel again soley for the view you get, and its in a fairley good location
