Accomodation: top rate. Spacious, well-equipped rooms - in fact really luxurious! Spotlessly clean bathroom with shower and bath. Nice amenities.
Food: excellent, in quality and quantity. Plentiful! Home-grown. A good variety of salads and everything very tasty.
We loved our one night stay at Kibbutz Lavi during our trip through Israel in 2011. We enjoyed a comprehensive tour of the grounds by a nice Mexican lady that has been a member of the Kibbutz for many decades. It is a complimentary session about how a kibbutz works and is run. Very informative.
Quoting another review: “At first when I heard, "Kibbutz" I was hesitant, thinking it would not be as nice as "a real hotel". I was completely wrong too!!! When I heard that we were going to stay at a Kibbutz, I imagined that all of us were going to stay in dorms with minimal comfort. To my surprise, I was completely mistaken! Nothing of the sort! The whole hotel is appealing! Well maintained, recently furnished. We were expecting to get a feel for kibbutz-life, which wasn’t the case, but we loved staying there all the same!
Dining room: large, full of people. Shared tables, which I didn’t like.
Lots of homey touches in the hotel. Restful atmosphere.
Do take a walk around the grounds of the kibbutz and do attend a talk by one of the kibbutzniks about the kibbutz. It was a worthwhile experience!
All in all, this was a memorable stay at a kibbutz!
First class service! I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay near Tiberias!
