“Kibbutz Lavi - great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Last night I arrived at Kibbutz Lavi at 9:30pm. I was with a group who arrived quite late and after dinner hours- Kbbutz Lavi held dinner for our group, it was set up beautifully and we didn't feel that were rushed by the late hour. The food was fresh & hot (as always) but I also noticed they labeled each dishes "kashrut" - the level of kosher for each dish. I thought this was very considerate as much of their clientelle is orthodox and have specific concerns about the level of kosher.

So far so good!

Shalom Stark

“Keeping the faith”

Something different and well worth doing if visiting the Galillee area. The kibbutz has great history and was very educational. In some ways the hotel felt like a well appointed university campus. The rooms were classic modern hotel style and ours had a patio with beautiful grounds outside. A real oasis of calm during our tour of Israel. The dining hall is self serve but with good food and we could see that the Lavi hotel was very popular with Jewish visitors and many Christian travellers like ourselves.
If you stay take a walk round the Kibbutz

“Loved our stay.”

Simple but modern room accomodations, with everything you need. A pleasant surprise since we knew we were staying on a kibbutz. They make furniture for many synagogues around the world and also grow many agricultural products. Very clean rooms with thick bath towels and large bath area. We were on a group tour and the group sat all together with excellent buffet choices for each meal. Tour of the kibbutz was excellent and managed by our tour guide.

“Sorry 2 leave!!!”

Accomodation: top rate. Spacious, well-equipped rooms - in fact really luxurious! Spotlessly clean bathroom with shower and bath. Nice amenities.

Food: excellent, in quality and quantity. Plentiful! Home-grown. A good variety of salads and everything very tasty.

We loved our one night stay at Kibbutz Lavi during our trip through Israel in 2011. We enjoyed a comprehensive tour of the grounds by a nice Mexican lady that has been a member of the Kibbutz for many decades. It is a complimentary session about how a kibbutz works and is run. Very informative.

Quoting another review: “At first when I heard, "Kibbutz" I was hesitant, thinking it would not be as nice as "a real hotel". I was completely wrong too!!! When I heard that we were going to stay at a Kibbutz, I imagined that all of us were going to stay in dorms with minimal comfort. To my surprise, I was completely mistaken! Nothing of the sort! The whole hotel is appealing! Well maintained, recently furnished. We were expecting to get a feel for kibbutz-life, which wasn’t the case, but we loved staying there all the same!

Dining room: large, full of people. Shared tables, which I didn’t like.

Lots of homey touches in the hotel. Restful atmosphere.

Do take a walk around the grounds of the kibbutz and do attend a talk by one of the kibbutzniks about the kibbutz. It was a worthwhile experience!

All in all, this was a memorable stay at a kibbutz!

First class service! I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay near Tiberias!
