Karei Deshe offers incredible value. It is officially a youth hostel, but can easily compete with most hotels. I would take this over most four star hotels. Karei Deshe has a private beach, beautiful courtyard, nice garden, good food, excellent staff etc. You will not regret to have stayed here.
One word of warning though. Especially during the weekends (Fri-Sat) Karei Deshe is backed with groups often children who make a lot of noise. Because most of the rooms are located around a courtyard, you will be disturbed. In worst cases, but not often, this may last till the late night. During some weekends there is also a lot of noise from the camping site next to Karei Deshe. This may continue till 2-3 AM. In other words, bring good earplugs, just in case there is noise. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent.

You should also not expect to find any high class beds. The beds are very basic.

I stayed with a group of family friends on a tour of Israel, for 5 nights. It was all that anyone could ask for! If the room size, balcony, luxury bathroom, gorgeous food every day and night, and the staffs helpful and happy attitude wasn't enough, the Sea of Galilee was at the bottom of the garden!! It was very magical and after all the places we stayed in Israel, this hotel was by far the best! I have no bad word for it! Would recommend to all! : ) X

This "hostel" is priced very low for how clean and spacious it is. I would have paid much more for this kind of room. We booked well in advance and had a great view of the Sea of Galilee. The private beach was very nice and breakfast was quite a large spread. (I can't speak to the other meals, but they offer what seemed to be a bit overpriced lunch and dinner buffet) Beautiful inner courtyard, but can get alittle noisy if you have neighbors playing soccer in the courtyard... Staff was very helpful and let us change our reservation at the last minute.

It was about an 10 minute drive away from TIberias so it felt nice and secluded, but it made it very difficult to get around without a car. If you have a car, I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. (Location would be 5 stars with car, only 3 without) You'll get much less and pay more in Tiberias. When we go back we will definitely stay here.

Very nice staff; clean, neat, spacious rooms. The hotel is super big, in the form of a rectangle with a courtyard in the middle, so not all room face the Kinneret. Reserve in advance if you want a nice view. Also off season, you would need a car to drive to the nearest decent restaurant. I would return and recommend it strongly.
