“Good if you are on a tight budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

I suppose we were staying in the hostel part. It is a good budget option, I guess the services corresponded the money. Breakfast was great (though everytime we can there was a terrible mess in the cafeteria). Staff friendliness and helpfulness depends on who is present. Rooms could be a bit cleaner. We had problems with the heating but the staff did try to repair it and offered us a different room. Overall it was ok.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

If you are lucky, you can have a dorm on your own. The dorm consist of two rooms with three and four beds in it. This makes it small. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is really warm. The rooms and bathroom are not to clean. There is not a fully equiped kitchen like lonely planet says. There is simply no kitchen at all, only a fridge. Good part is the free wifi and internet. The staff isn't very helpful and are uninterested.

“Good budget option.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

We booked this hotel by internet.

When we checked in, corner, not facing to Sea of Galiee, small room was given. We requested to change the room with view, and receptionist easily changed the room without smiling. That room was great view of Galilee, spacious and lovely balcony. Room and bath room was pretty clean, house keeping was done every day. So pretty satisfied for the room.

As other review said, receptionist was a little bit surly. However they did their job properly, gave us trip info, and they helped us to arrange the tour in last minutes. We found out that the guy was working in this hotel for long hour, so he could not keep smiling all the time.

One of the best thing we had from this hotel was the half day trip around Galiee. This trip was only organized a few days of a week. Russian Jewish tour guide had incredible knowledge about this area and we were so impressed though we needed to hear from English translator.

Overall I was satisfied my stay.

“Nice bargain”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

This is more like a hostel. The room I got was with great sea view. Spacious. Basic facilities but with a bath tub in the bathroom. It's not far from the bus station and the sea. Good location.

“Good value and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

The only thing letting this hotel down was the cleanliness of the room. It had just been serviced and yet there was a cigarette butt on the floor and ashtray dirty. The walls in the shower desperately needed a good clean and the floor of the bathrrom needed mopping. The bedsheets were clean and everything else fine. The most important things for us in a room is that the bed is comfortable and it's in a good location and these we couldn't fault.. There are two Hotel Aviv but both owned by the same person. One is a cheaper version and that's the one we stayed in, the more expensive one includes breakfast. They are right next to each other and right at the bottom of the shopping street and close to the promenade etc. We took a taxi around the lake for 450ILS stopping at all the tourist places (or wherever we wanted to stop) and thought this good value.
