“an amazing boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

My friends and I have been traveling and just now have time to write about the WONDERFUL stay and great service we received at your Hotel ! Thank you thank you ! It was the very best care we ever had experienced, note to forget our room was gorgeous as well. It was perfect to come home to after sight-seeing and we enjoyed having a glass of wine in the most luxurious Hotel lobby in Israel!!!
Thank you for a fantastic stay- beautiful hotel- kind & friendly staff- Thank you !
Overall; a great stay and a great experience, I just wish we had had more time to stay and enjoy this beautiful place
We will absolutely stay here again on our next visit!

“Simply unique”

It is the best boutique hotel my son and I ever experienced...Our room was very beautiful and elegant, unfortunately our stay was too short, but, we will return.

“Shoddy- This is not a 'Boutique Hotel' it's a mess............”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

I fully agree with the Belgium couple. The place is hiding behind the trendy name of a 'boutique' hotel....everything about the place is fake, a horrible conversion, poorly done. Dreadfully overpriced, the owner lead us to believe we would be his 'guests' for dinner on the Sabbath we were dumb enough to believe this might be the case and even took wine along. We were presented with a very expensive menu and a medium quality meal.
I have read the other reviews and find it difficult to understand such inconsistency, nonetheless although I rarely write reviews ( 2 before this) I feel I must let people know this is a rip off.

Palacio, Owner at Palacio Domain Luxurious Boutique Hotel, responded to this review
23 December 2010
Thank you Trip advisor for giving us the opportunity to rebuke the disgruntled review of Mr. James Haslett which was posted last month…

We truly have no idea what triggered his review because when Mr. Haskell and his male friend first entered our premises they were full of compliments and liked very much the accommodations, the lobbies and their room.
That same afternoon and early evening they enjoyed the complimentary Bar and spend few hours in the lobbies drinking all kinds of wines and liquors and afterward Mr. Haslett ask to see the Diner Menu and requested to have diner in our restaurant (which is open only to our guests).
Mr. Haslett was never invited to a free diner and we have no idea why he thought so!
As you can read from the countless and overwhelming positive reviews from our guests, we are proud of the attributed title of being the most elegant and authentic 5 stars Boutique Hotel of Israel with has been gorgeously renovated and boast beautiful rooms and furnished with a unique collection of paintings and antiques throughout the Mansion. Therefore, Mr. Haslett bias review is unfounded and without any merits.

“Eclectic, comfy boutique hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

Family stayed here for two nights during recent Sukkot holidays.

We had two rooms. Both were clean, comfy, plush. Breakfast was extremely tasty with wonderful homemade quiches, eggs to order, breads, amazing cheeses, and more.

The art and decor around the place is a bit eclectic and some may love, some may hate. We found it charming for the most part.

We definitely liked the hotel. It was warm, romantic, and a real retreat from the demeanor of Safed outdoors.

Perfect spot in Safed for exploring the artist colony, synagogues, etc.

A bit hard to find though upon entry. Parking may be difficult if peak times.

Owner very helpful and friendly.

Definitely woudl stay here again if spent an ight in Safed.

“A Gem in the Gallilee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

This is a lovely villa that once belonged to the Mamaluke Governor--1000 years ago. Jean Yves, the Innkeeper-owner, renovated it over a ten year period and made it into a luxurious boutique hotel. Our room (the Queen) was spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was more than adequate with a nice sized shower. Jean, who is French by way of LA, is a wonderful innkeeper who takes personal care of his guests. He is quite a raconteur. He personally oversees the kitchen and it shows. Our breakfast was fit for a queen and our dinner was homecooking at its best. If you plan a visit to Israel, don't miss this gem.
