“Depends on what you are looking for”

The area
This part of the Galilee is simply beautiful. The picturesque city of safed is just a few minutes away. If you have a car you can be in wine country in just 20 minutes. There are large wineries like Galil and Dalton, as many smaller ones including ben Zimra, Ramot Naftali, Amrams and the unusual Rimon whose wines are made from pomegranates. There is also a nice micro brewery Butterfly located right next to the Dalton winery. There are great Pine forests for hiking, the hula nature reserve , and Jordan river rafting all within a 30 minute drive . But this is also the sticking point - you must have transportation.
The pros
I found the food a bit uneven, some was excellent especially the salads and breads, other times is was just OK. The flexible breakfast -brunch hours allows you to get a glass of fresh “squeeze it yourself” orange juice and go workout for an hour, shower and then come back for a real breakfast. There are plenty of corners for you to curl up with a book or use their free internet access . The pool is heated and clean. Most of the rooms are really nice The staff is nice and very helpful.

The Cons
The actual location of the hotel is really the pits. Its hard to find, so make sure you really get good directions. Although you do have a great view, you are essentially in middle of a neighborhood. This isn’t too conducive for walking. The prices are high and probably aren’t justified unless you can get a good deal from your travel agent or on the internet. Many of the visitors are groups brought by unions or community centers.
Conclusion
Recommended as long as you simply want quiet ( no children allowed) and don’t mind having to use a car as soon as you exit the door. If you expect night life, to do activities, a short walk to a pub or site seeing at night without getting into a car - you will be disappointed.

Room Tip: Make sure you do not overlook the lower extention roof. There are a number of a corner rooms with...

“Don't go there...”

Hotel disappoints in almost all parameters.
We stayed for a weekend at Dec2011.
We thought that at this price level we can enjoy a boutique hotel as written in the hotel brochure, but did a big mistake.
All the spa / indoor pool / sauna area was not heated at all - and It's freezing cold there.
One Jacuzzi for six people should accommodate 120 hotel rooms!!! Just try to get in.
The food is catastrophic. No meal was even reasonable.
Food is more like a 3 stars hotel than a "boutique" hotel.
Amateur service in the dining room. You should look for the waitress with the coffee.
Not enough parking. Need to maneuver or march in the cold weather.
The only thing that was reasonable was the room cleanliness. But this is trivial.
This is a very pricy hotel with a very low return on investment.

“very relaxing atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

This hotel-spa' location is very high on hills overlooking Safed.
Views from the hotel are magnificent.
The hotel is located about 3 kilometers from the town so you have to drive there.
The hotel has heated pool, dry and wet saunas, jacuzzi , Turkish ham-am and one may order body massage and other treatments.
The breakfast and dinner are very good and there is open buffet during lunch time.
Children younger then 16 are not allowed to stay there with their parents to keep the place quite.
The town of Safed is very picturesque with centers teaching Kabbala (Jewish mystical religion), some very interesting art galleries in ancient quarter of the town.
One may buy there the famous Safed white cheese.
Within distance of 9 kilometers there is also Rosh Pina - small town with art galleries.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the mountain landscape - facing west.

“Very disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

The best part of staying in this hotel was that we had a big discount since my partner's workplace paid most of the cost. Looking at the internet site before arrival I had great expectations - good food, tai chi lessons and special atmosphere. Upon arrival I found out I was wrong on all counts.
The food was below mediocre. None of the desserts in any of the meals were good. The soup at lunch was made from powder and the tomato sauce was straight from a can. Totally uninspiring. The only bright point was the fresh made salad at breakfast.
The tai chi class was non-existent. A smallish gym was present with very few pieces of equipment. The pool was great and almost always empty (except for a water exercise class once in 3 days). The guests of the hotel were mostly elderly and religious, and, I even had the opportunity to view elderly religious ladies in the pool in full regalia (including shirt, pants and hat!!!). Surrealistic sight...
Looking for the gym and the pool was difficult and I stumbled upon an empty pool and Jacuzzi area with lots of discarded and dirty junk in them. Not very impressive indeed.
The room was nice and spacious and beatufully decorated.
In summary, the hotel was very disappointing, the food uninspiring, the room very nice. I am thinking that probably in the summer there were lots of activities otherwise it is truly falsely advertised on the internet site. Very far from the reality!

“Perfect adult vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

This beautiful hotel high in the mountains of the breathtaking Galilee has five-star facilities, abundant, healthy food, and caters to an adults- only crowd who are looking for a place to recharge their batteries. I can't express enough what a lovely time I had in this secluded haven of peace and tranquility. I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view.
