“Fantastic ambiance and stunning facilities!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Pros:

The breakfast was delicious and the selection was excellent. Our room was beautiful, cozy and came equipped with high vaulted ceilings. The stone walls gave the place a certain charm that made it truly memorable. Our gorgeous bathroom came fully equipped with shampoos, lotions, scrubs, and dead sea skin products. The TV had just enough channels to ward off boredom when it really rained. There was a very good free selection of two types of coffee, tea, creamers and bottled water in out room. The room was spacious for Israeli hotel standards.

Cons:

The wood floor needed to be sanded and re-varnished because it was pretty badly scraped up.

We will definitely stay there the next time we go to Tzfat.

“Gorgeous Historic Hotel in Safed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This is a very unique historic stone hotel. We booked 3 rooms, each overlooking the valley with arched entry to the enclosed balcony. This a a very elegant hotel with stone arch ways and tiled floors. We ate in the bar one night and asked to share a salad. The bartender made us one of the most delicious and unique salads we've ever had and it was large enough for 6 of us to share. We sat outside in the garden sipping some great local wines. It is serene and very quiet in this area.

We stayed at the Ruth Rimonim while exploring the North for 3 days. The only criticism I have of this hotel is the fact that the pool and gym open too late and close too early (5 pm). We never got to use the pool because we were never back at our hotel that early!

Food - The hotel has a beautiful cafeteria/restaurant. The breakfast buffet is huge and boasts hundreds of types of foods. It was a wonderful way to start each day. We were out for most evenings but one. Dinner was equally delicious and varied.

This hotel is walking distance to everywhere in Safed - artist colony, old shuls, shopping and more. Safed is a walking city with the historic streets and buildings. The views are unbeatable.

Our rooms were spacious, clean, luxurious and comfortable. As I mentioned before, ours had an enclosed balcony overlooking the valley.

“Better than last time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

The Ruth Rimonim is better than I remember fro my last visit! The redid their lobby on the upper side of teh hotel, it's new and elegant. The front desk was very helpful for everything I needed (except an extra charger for my iPhone, but hey, how much can a guy expect?).

The whole week following Chanukah it was pouring rain outside the whole night and day, but the lobby floor was noticeably clean and dry every time I came in. The breakfast isn't the best in Israel but it was still a good selection and satisfying. The rooms at this hotel are great in the sense that they are "authentic." The building a series of "Old Tzfat" buildings, thus is has twists and turns and the rooms have character.

The location is excellent for a day or two in Tzfat- the hotel is in the Old City of Tzfat, everything is right there- the artist quarter, shuls, shopping, all in walking distance. It's also amazing how much Tzfat has developed into a major tourist hub over the last few years. It has nothing to do with the hotel but it does make time at the hotel so much more enjoyable with the city around it having more to offer!

“Best option in Safed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

Not much to choose in this town but it seems a good choice from which to explore Galilee. First room was unacceptable for size reasons, the next was completely charmless in the new section & the third was fantastic, with great views over the valley. Clean bathrooms & nice beds.
Big delicious breakfast kept us fueled all day & the accommodating waiters will bring specialty coffee drinks & hot chocolate as you help yourself to the ridiculously bountiful buffet.

Room Tip: definitely ask for the more charming old building with views

“only decent hotel in sefad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

we stayed for one night on the 6th dec2011
although very pricy we paid $156 for one night bb incl tax it was still fair value.
the bedroom was AI as was the bathroom (but the tiled floor flooded after a bath) magnificant balcony and a very good varied israeli breakfast..fantastic veiws from our room...and free parking for our car.
very helpful staff,,,,but you must be ablebodied to stay in this very quaint okd hotel....lots of steps and staircases up and down.I missed not having a safe in the room but on the plus side plenty of extra bedding and pillows, finding the hotel is very easy although very secluded as the whole town is signposted with direction.

Room Tip: ask for the old building...less steps..bigger rooms
