“Wheelchair access and review”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2011

I use a wheelchair and for shower a commode chair. I cannot recommend this hotel as accessible because is was very difficult to wheel into the shower due to the narrow opening. Needing to reverse out was impossible to do indepentently due to the metal strip on the floor. Any wider shower chair than mine would not have been able to enter at all. This could be improved by management removing the screen and installing a curtain instead.

The bathroom is narrow and doesn't allow a wheelchair to turn.

Access wise everything else was ok but beware of the street entry/exit. The pavers are rough and it is easy to lose control of the chair in the space before the kerb.

See shower, toilet and entry photos.

Generally the hotel is clean, room was spacious and well appointed, overall good value. Breakfast buffet was generous. Service friedly and helpful.

“A dump”

Booked by collegues for business trip. Web site looks great and hotel is well located. However rooms were not particularly well cleaned and carpets (in all 5 rooms that we had) had MANY cigarette burn holes etc. Lobby and dining room (breakfast) chairs etc. clearly hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. Avoid this place.

“Very pleasant hotel to use as a base”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2010

Chose the hotel as a last minute getaway. On the phone, they advised us to make our reservations using their web site, which would give us a discounted rate. (this did save us about 200 NIS == ~50$!)
The rooms were not very large, more European standard than US.
This is not a luxury hotel, however we were very pleased with the service and the rooms did have all of the basic requirements.
The food (breakfast and dinner) was quite good; not gourmet, but certainly tasty, with good variety. Lunch (we stayed with "full board") was less exciting, however there were only 6 couples who stayed for lunch, so this is not surprising. The lunch was good, however it was presented as a "fixed plate" rather than buffet, which disappointed.

This hotel is right across the street from the beach - much closer than ALL other hotels in the city.

The hotel has very few facilities of its' own, however it has an arrangement with the country club across the street for pool, private beach, tennis... which makes up for it.

We went for a relaxing weekend, and were very satisfied.

“Good hotel, excellent location, excellent recreational facilities available”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

Our family (2 of us + 3 small children) stayed here on a last-minute summer holiday. It was one of the few places with rooms available, and they were offering a very economical price, so we arrived with low expectations. However, we were pleasantly surprised.

The hotel itself is a relatively straightforward. A clean, modern lobby, large breakfast room overlooking the sea, and clean, modern rooms. Our family room comfortably accommodated the five of us, and was innovatively laid out to provide privacy for the parents, even though it was all one big room and not a suite. The room was not carpeted, which was fine considering that we probably tracked in some sand coming back from the beach.

Unlike many hotels in Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem, this hotel offers free high-speed WiFi. I don't know why more Israeli hotels don't do this.

The biggest plus about this hotel is the location, in a mixed residential/hotel district directly across the street from a lovely private beach (with a small swimming area protected by a curved jetty, several in-ground pools, a children's pool, and a children's water playground) and excellent beachside health club (indoor lap pools, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, etc.). Hotel guests are granted free entrance to all these facilities.

Note that Nahariya is a quaint little city, within easy driving distance to Acco, Rosh HaNikra, Achziv, etc.

Now for the minuses:

- Breakfast offerings were a little skimpy compared to fancier Israeli hotels. We eat early; we noticed that guests arriving later than ~8:30 did not get some of the better offerings, like pancakes.

- The staff is not very helpful. We asked about kosher restaurants in the area, and they directed us to an establishment which was totally treif. Luckily, we were able to find something by wandering around town.

- No parking, although street parking is relatively easily found.

Overall, a great place for a relaxing beach holiday with kids.

“dirty carpeting and not adhering to promises”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

Reservations were made by phone for 2 rooms. 1 room we requested without carpeting and were told that floors 3-5 were without carpeting. We requested the 5th floor and the other couple requested the 7th floor. When we arrived we got a room on th 3rd floor with dirty carpeting which my wife is highly allegic as I told them. The other couple got a room on the 7th floor which also needed a vacuuming
The breakfast was not up to standards for a 4 star hotel. We checked out the next day and my wife was sick from the dust in the carpeting.
