Our family (2 of us + 3 small children) stayed here on a last-minute summer holiday. It was one of the few places with rooms available, and they were offering a very economical price, so we arrived with low expectations. However, we were pleasantly surprised.
The hotel itself is a relatively straightforward. A clean, modern lobby, large breakfast room overlooking the sea, and clean, modern rooms. Our family room comfortably accommodated the five of us, and was innovatively laid out to provide privacy for the parents, even though it was all one big room and not a suite. The room was not carpeted, which was fine considering that we probably tracked in some sand coming back from the beach.
Unlike many hotels in Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem, this hotel offers free high-speed WiFi. I don't know why more Israeli hotels don't do this.
The biggest plus about this hotel is the location, in a mixed residential/hotel district directly across the street from a lovely private beach (with a small swimming area protected by a curved jetty, several in-ground pools, a children's pool, and a children's water playground) and excellent beachside health club (indoor lap pools, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, etc.). Hotel guests are granted free entrance to all these facilities.
Note that Nahariya is a quaint little city, within easy driving distance to Acco, Rosh HaNikra, Achziv, etc.
Now for the minuses:
- Breakfast offerings were a little skimpy compared to fancier Israeli hotels. We eat early; we noticed that guests arriving later than ~8:30 did not get some of the better offerings, like pancakes.
- The staff is not very helpful. We asked about kosher restaurants in the area, and they directed us to an establishment which was totally treif. Luckily, we were able to find something by wandering around town.
- No parking, although street parking is relatively easily found.
Overall, a great place for a relaxing beach holiday with kids.
