The room is good: big bed, very good hot shower, cosy and clean. The building looks nice when you look quick but when you look better you see that it needs some maintenance. The lobby, the bar and the restaurant are old fashioned with NO atmosphere and although there were a lot of guests there was nobody in the restaurant for dinner. The breakfast buffet it good. There is free wifi in the lobby. The location is a little bit outside the city centre, by car only 5 minutes.

Valued for MONEY ! Staffs are friendly though there is a minor problems with communications. Going to town is easy and cheap if we know how.
My advice is to take the "ANGKOT"(small bus) which costed a person 2000 Ruppiah to go to town. If one like to try take a ride on the BENDY ( Horsecart Ride), it will only cost around 15000-20000 Ruppiah.The Hotel is chosen over "The Hills Hotel" based on reviewers comments which are quite accurated so far to my experienced. Its indeed a pleasant stay.

The room looked quite good, although there was some scribbling on the wall in a corner. It was clean enough, but we had some small difficulties with the shower. I didn't go for a dip in the pool because it looked like the water was slightly muddy.
The food was really quite good (especially the fish), but stay away from the western food.

Had some small communication problems with the staff (like everywhere else in Sumatera), but nothing that could be solved with gesturing hands and a little patience.

The hotel is located a 15-20 minutes walk from the town center up a little hill which gives you some distance from traffic and the prayers that happens at regular intervals.

There is a chess set (the set it is HUGE, makes you wanna play just because its fun to move the pieces around) and a gym available ,but the gym is small and with no free weights.

Pusako is about 10min taxi ride from the town center of Bukit Tinggi. There are "Opelets" that can take you to the bottom of the road from the Central Market (where all Opelets start and end).

It is a better hotel than the Novotel in town because it is resort-like. Whereas Novotel is very tight for space. The finish, however is better at the Novotel in town.

Rooms: Large and fairly clean. You'd expect the rooms to be cleaner given the 4star rating that the hotel enjoys. One seat cushionwas torn and there was grime on the shower walls. Room opened out a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens and it was cool.

Hotel premises: Bright and clean lobby, dining area and surrounding, cool as it most of Bukit Tinggi

Service: Pleasant service but their prices can be negotiated at the counter. When we called, we were told 400,000 rupiahs but when we approached the desk, they said 500,000. Anywa they gave it to us for 400. Room came with breakfast.

Food: The spread for breakfast was fantastic and enough for lunch. We had to leave after a quick breakfast and the staff there packaged some eggs and rolls for us to eat during the journey to Padang, for the return flight.
