“Beautiful Resort Away From The Bustling City.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

It is located at the other side of the island.quieter and ideal place to just laze around. There are a few restaurants at the hotel or you can grab a cab and head to town for a more variety(cheaper too). I love catching the sunrise while walking along the beach. Will come back here again. Love the new wing which is located nearer to the beach but further away from the lobby.

“Bad experience at Turi Beach”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Bought the groupon deal for 2d1n stay at turi beach. We reached the resort too early to check in, so we took the shuttle bus (available on fri-sun only) at $8 for two way trip per pax to mega mall. Came back & staff informed us that we were rooming in tirta wing instead of riani as planned. Explored the beach for a while - nothing fantastic. A huge area of the beach was cordoned off for repair work or renovation. 2 pools available, both average sized. Bars are next to the pools. Everything is priced in SGD - food, souvenirs, etc etc & they are not cheap. Hammocks by the beach is by far the best thing i saw there.

Our room was all the way at the back - it was literally abt a 5 min walk to the lift. The room condition was quite bad - floors were stained, shower heater wasn't working (had to call room service but they didn't understand English well so went down to the lobby to request), bed sheets & pillow sheets were stained with weird brown stuff, towels even more stained. Air con took very long to start up and switched itself off after abt an hour. The curtains were extremely flimsy & dangerous, one pull & one rod fell, narrowly missing my head. The next day while packing up, they called & informed us that there will be no water from 11am - 6pm for maintenance, but by 1030 the water was cut off from my room.

A note abt their customer service. When we were checking in, the lobby receptionist said they needed my credit card for 'verification' purposes. Turned out they 'blocked' $70 & did not inform me at all, they insisted that no money will be transacted/deposited etc etc. Came home to find out i'm $70 poorer, called Turi Beach & they said they'll direct me to accounting. After that, they either rejected or ignored my calls. Tried using a different number to call & they answered immediately. What kind of service is this? Called the singapore nongsa resort hotline & they said they'll call the batam side & eventually, she updated me saying my money will be credited again within 1-2 weeks.

Not recommending this place to anyone. Too expensive for the condition & service provided, although is is quite a nice place to relax.

“Not a bad experience!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed from 28-29 Jan thru a promotion at DEAL.com. After purchasing the vouchers then stumbled on the bad reviews posted here. Was taken aback and even decided not to go for the trip initially. But relented in the end with upgrading to Tirta wing as most of the reviews suggested. Did not expect too much since already aware of all the bad experiences so the trip was fine. A bit hiccup here and there like no welcome drink, out of spoons at dinner buffet, expensive food coupled with the 21% service tax. The music at dinner was good except that there was a company gathering at Riani wing so both sides were blaring with music. Food was good at a variety. Bali massage was great at extra 30 mins due to promotion. Rooms not bad overlooking the beach. Family was happy especially my kids. However, my suggestion is always check the trip advisor first before deciding on the hotel so that you wouldn't have 2nd thoughts at going for the trip. But most of the times, it all depend on luck that you get a good or bad experience. Just be patient and understanding and all would be just fine. Happy travelling!!! :)

Room Tip: Book rooms at Tirta wing for comfort

“Outdoor function and loud music at night just outside the room!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

It is supposed to be a rest and relax holiday. Paid so
much to stay at tirta wing but the nightmare started when they have a outdoor function just outside the room!!! The night was filled with loud music and speaker! Shouldn't this function be held in function room? The noise was unbearable and lasted till 10 plus!!! Unreasonable and spolit the holiday mood!! Super bad experience. think twice if you are staying!

“Big dissappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Stayed during cny weekend. There were 3 couples in my gep.
Expected crowd, cant complain. However, upon chk-in , my friends got a double bed instead of a king bed. Got a change of room aft much negotiating. Another couple cldnt get the aircon workin, lights were flickering and fridge broken down.
As for my room, sheets and blanket were badly stained, no towels, aircon took super long to cool the room.
My friends checked out a day earlier cos they cldnt stand the condition of their rooms.
The beach was dirty from the water sports offered. Hubby and myself took a whole hour to get our feet cleaned.
Defintely NOT returning.
