Got to stay at the Surabaya Plaza for 1 night on a business trip.
Good open feeling as the natural lighting inside the hotel is good.
Rooms had a small sitting area which was of no real use.
Bath was like tugged inside and you would have to step up into and step down after use.
Buffet breakfast was nothing much to shout about.
Staff as all over Indonesia were pleasant.
Hotel is located close to a very large n new shopping mall, where food variety is plentiful
I was given a room that had a strong foul odor in the bathroom, but the reception was quick to change rooms immediately upon notification

Good value at the reduced winter rate of USD75, but def not good value for the normal rates of USD170.
Not bad for a one nighter but would not like to spend more than 2 nights there.
Very basic rooms but still comfortable.
Big bathrooms but again basic and could do with a touch up, renovation.
Staff make a good effort to look after you.
Food was average and nothing to write home about.
Only staye d1 night but did not have the feeling of wanting to spend more time there unless a late night check in with next day check out.

Well, we try to book a room in Hotel Surabaya Plaza at 27 november 2011. We came to the reception desk and ask about any free rooms. There was 2 people, a man and a woman. She has started to search a rooms and want to sell them to us, but the man looked at us and told, that there're no available rooms. Yes- i agree- we didn't look like buissness class, we had shorts and tops, cause we were on VACATION. That was really RUDE, and he didn't tell us the price, which was- in fact- a funny small for us (i'm a HR manager, and my colleague works at one of the best consulting companys on the world). We were disguisting about the service. Don't come there if you don't wear suits on vacation!

This hotel has had mixed reviews, but I found it absolutely fine and would certainly stay there again. It is not "state-of-the-art", but perfectly good. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is fairly good and the transers to and from the airport were very efficient. It is non-smoking (with a smoking area!) and non-tipping (although a couple of staff were happy to take tips!). I had no reason to complain about anything whatsoever.
