Bumi hotel, formerly Hyatt Surabaya, is located in the CBD, very closed to the biggest mall, foodstall, gramedia convention hall, city hall and many offices in Surabaya.
They have a spacious room with dull carpet, the furniture is outdated and the air condition is very cold, you can not adjust it. Tho, the mattress and pillow is still good.
The gym is not well organized, they have old equipment in the basement closed to sauna, steam and the whirlpool, whereas the new one in the upper level. The pool is very good. Sadly, they demolish the beautiful lawn tennis in the ground level closed to the office building and use it for parking lot, the construction is still ongoing by the time I stayed there.
The breakfast is very basic for 5 stars standard. The surrounding is pretty much safe, during midnight every weekends you can find groups of people clustered base on the vehicle, like Harley Davidson group, VW group, Vespa group, Toyota group, etc. get together along the Basuki Rakhmad street.
