Stayed 7 days in executive floor (including executive lounge) was very good: clean, sufficient room, seperate shower cabin, internet (only free on executive floor)
Lounge is welcoming but only really "open" during happy hour: free drinks and very good snacks.
Fitness centre small but has all major instruments. Durin Aerobics class the music is much too loud (could not hear my own i-pod) and a strange mix between western & asian popmusic, horrible. Sadly enough they don't show what times these classes are so avoiding them is question of luck.

Survived a hellacious road journey from Yogyarkta to Semarang, passed hovel-lined road to reach this modern hotel set on an enormous circle. It takes on a surreal quality having seen so many living in huts & selling rice cakes by the road to survive; then within minutes we're sitting in the Ciputra lounge sipping cocktails while a red-gowned, stiletto-heeled chanteuse sings, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". I can't believe I'm still in Java!
Disappointing chicken dinner again - Chicken McKnuckle - knee & elbow joints with no meat, filled with shards of bone. Breakfast awoke early due to the 4AM prayers blasting from loud speakers all over the city. Breakfast was was a treat - full buffet of both western & asian foods: rice, noodles, curries, pink & yellow tapiocas, stir fry, waffles & made to order omelets.

I had some business in Semarang and I chose Ciputra Hotel Semarang because of its easy access. It's located at the heart of Semarang city so it is very flexible for me to go anywhere.

Ciputra Hotel offers a prestige room that I really enjoy. I really love the modern minimalist concept as I was there for business so it really gives me the flexiblity and comfortabilty at once.

What an awful experience. And this is a presumably 4 star rated hotel:
-old, outdated, somber decor
-ugly 1980's style with no renovations
-small rooms with outdated cheap furniture and wall to wall never replaced carpets
-no fruits in the room
-poor and lousy service (mess-up at airport arrival, mess-up at check in, incompetent to provide newspapers, crowed "food hall" style breakfast buffet, smoking all over
-invisible management
- staff's English language capabilities poor.

Skip it. I checked out prematurely and moved to another hotel. There are much nicer, friendlier, cleaner and fresh-style new hotels with all comforts now in Semarang
