This is the place that gets visitors only when all other hotels are fully booked ! Beware and reserve your rooms well in advance when visiting Bandung.

Grand Aquila Hotel in Bandung is a 4 stars hotel. I spent one night in that hotel. I wasn't impressed at all, for the following reasons; the first is that the room needed to be vacuumed and I had a feeling that it is dusty also there was no pen in the room (small things make a big difference especially if you need them). When flushing the toilet you have to keep your hand on the lever till flushing is complete. Breakfast is not impressing at all particularly for Westerns and considering that one night is $120!

If this place ever looms up on your Indonesian itinerary, take my advice - stay home! I arrived in the middle of the night to find an interesting party still proceeding in nearby rooms, and in my own room... where shall I start? I turned on the bath taps to be greeted by a torrent of brown water that never ceased. The shower worked, but in odd ways that were unfathomable. The air conditioning system sounded like incessant jack-hammering - or perhaps they were doing urgent repairs all night. The bed had seen better days, and the room was so tired it slept better than I did. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was passable, but I was glad to see the carpark exit and leave, never to return...
