If this place ever looms up on your Indonesian itinerary, take my advice - stay home! I arrived in the middle of the night to find an interesting party still proceeding in nearby rooms, and in my own room... where shall I start? I turned on the bath taps to be greeted by a torrent of brown water that never ceased. The shower worked, but in odd ways that were unfathomable. The air conditioning system sounded like incessant jack-hammering - or perhaps they were doing urgent repairs all night. The bed had seen better days, and the room was so tired it slept better than I did. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was passable, but I was glad to see the carpark exit and leave, never to return...

I dont expect to find a world class accomodation in Bandung. Grand Aquilla is impressive enough. The room was clean and comfy. Eventhough the lobby,swimming pool,etc was relatively small. Location is not far from the main shopping area, highly recommended. Simply, this is among the top choice of hotels that id like to stay in upon visit to bandung.

The 5* claim is totally spurious. My room had several iron burns on the floor - but no iron (or hair-dryer for that matter) - and the hotel can't even be bothered covering them with a rug. One bedside light and bathroom plug were not working but requests for repair were simply ignored. No gym but extra charges for internet access.
