most atr galleries and meetings are held here since it is on asia-africa street. it is infront of ancient savoy homman hotel and near all dutch historical sites. mangement of this hotel is friendly and professional. i actually met president mahatir mohammad in this hotel. he stayed in royal suite 7th floor while i was staying in 6th floor during one of my visits.i also met mayor of bandung here.this tells you that this hotel is well recognized. breakfast and service are good.easy access to all city attractions. price is reasonable.

This hotel was one of "old" hotels in Bandung. It was established since more than 20 years ago. It is surely ages... though in its time, it was one of few luxurious hotel.

The current name is actually changed to GRAND ROYAL PANGHEGAR.
I'm not sure whether the hotel management is still the same as it was or being taken over.
and learning from the website, it seems that the hotel was renovated and the floor is cover by woods (or parquet ? which is good since we don't like floor full with carpet ), this become one of many factors to stay. more over the offered rate is considerably makes sense.

The check in process is quick, which is good since it feels uncomfortable to stand in the lobby among soooooo many many people ... (at the time I check in - the lobby is very hectic and full of large group of tourists and also their large luggage).

but I feel disappointed when I found out that the floor was actually covered by a carpet in light color (peach-pink), maybe it was my mistake not to confirm the hotel first. but the carpet is indeed unclean, the unclean stain and dusty look, has made us uncomfortable to put off our shoes. this is actually my only complain, beside

the swimming pool is surprisingly cool ! it is clean and big enough.
the breakfast is average in choice, but great in taste.
taxi is easily to get, beside the Blue Bird taxi parked there.
there are bicycle ready to be rent

When we told the Hotel that we might leave our good in the room.The hotel management was very helpful for sending back our lost good,

I am very disappointed with the service provided by this hotel. I get the wrong key provided by the front desk clerk. I've called to request assistance from the bell boy to help me, but up to three times the call there was no response. Finally I went down to the lobby (I was there on the 6th floor at the time), once again I ask help for the problems I had. from the front desk promised to help, I went up again and wait in front of the room until about ten minutes. after no response, I decided to exit the hotel and find another hotel. although their occupancy rates are high and they were many guests, for me extremely unfortunate hotel with 5 star standards of service they were very disappointing. I still remember there are 7 people at the front desk (including duty manager) and no response. Thus although I appreciate their efforts to contact me to return to their hotel, unfortunately I've got the hotel and was not interested anymore Panghegar grand hotel stay forever. for hotel management, please order immediately provide an appropriate customer service training for front desk clerk.

Stay from 11-12 November in Panghegar Bandung in Excecutive Condo. This hotel is obviously under major renovation as there is plenty of unfinished project inside the hotel.
The wonderful fading of the hotel hides the underneath renovation project in progress in the building. Unfortunately, the management is not ready yet to hide it from the guest. Personally, I believe that this hotel should not be ready to receive the guests.

In the room, even in the executive one, one will easily notice that the room is not ready. When you open the door, plenty of cables, empty tray, and project material left inside the drawers.

The other concern is about the noise in the room coming from the railway just beside the room. The isolation of the room is not good enough to prevent the noise of railway, and even the main street from entering the room. It is very hard to get sleep whole night as bell from nearest rail station is rigging every (maybe) hour or even less.

Internet access also not available yet in the room so this could be a concern for business traveler as free wifi is only available down stairs

Despite all of of these, fortunately the water flow in the bathroom is quite strong. Although it tooks about 5 minutes or so to get hot water but you can have a good bath with such of water flow.

Obviously, this is one of unpleasant experience to stay in this hotel with my love.
