I don't even remember how many times I have stayed at Ubud Terrace. I like it for the great location near Monkey Forest on Monkey Forest Rd., for the superfriendly staff, the stylish rooms, the use of the pool, the lush garden and the feeling of peace and relaxation I get when I am there. Value for money is very good considering that you're staying at a hotel with pool, including breakfast. I would rate it mid-range. Not your bottom budget kind of guesthouse and not a fancy hotel either. Although the rooms get cleaned every day, the bathrooms are a little grubby. For some reasons in Bali the floors are always cleaned to perfection and other areas don't quite get the same level of attention.
One of the highlights for me here are clearly the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I really like coming back here again and again. It's laid back, friendly, welcoming. Not very formal and there are the odd bits that you may have to ask for or remind them, i.e. when your toilet paper runs out.
But any request was promptly dealt with and done with a smile. Extra towels, an extra blanket, hosting a birthday party on our patio. Nothing was a big bother.
What is also very nice is that they safely stored our luggage free of charge when we do short trips around Bali or neighboring islands.
You can arrange airport pick up, personal driver service, day trips and excursions, tours or cultural shows etc through reception. Laundry service is available and cheap. Rooms are cleaned daily, sheets and blankets changed every few days.
The fact that I keep coming back here is proof that I really like staying at Ubud Terrace. I have been here with many friends and also just with my partner. It's always a good choice.

I have just returned from 5 nights at these bungalows. The cheap rate, clean, comfortable rooms/beds, pool, yummy set breakfast was all good. I could highly recommend them. It's been 10 years since I was last in Ubud and I thought that it was starting to become too impersonal- a bit like Kuta. This time, we were looked after by Wayan in a friendly (not pushy) manner. It's close to everything by foot or they can organise transport to activities further afield (or you can try your luck with transport on the Monkey Forest Rd). Only down side were they old bathrooms but hey at these proces (US$20)....
When I return to Ubud again (hopefully sooner tan 10 years time) I will try them again.

Stayed here during June 2010 for a few nights. Great location and friendly staff but they really need to work on the cleanliness. Stayed in Room 4 and as with other posts the entire hotel seems to have the damp sheets and mattress problem. Also, make sure you stock up on toilet paper. But... spose you get what you pay for. 200,000rp a night.

We have stayed at Ubud Terrace the last 2 years we have been in Indonesia and we love it. The location is great, it is close to Monkey Forest and within walking distance of many great restaurants. There are also several great walks you can do around Ubud through the rice paddies. The rooms are large and clean, great pool, friendly staff, and great breakfast! We have stayed in other places around Ubud but we always return to Ubud Terrace. The quality is great for a very reasonable price. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Indonesia.
