We booked a room here through hostelworld. We arrived on Jalan Hanoman, unpacked our bags from the taxi and went to reception. We are fully booked they said! We were then offered a room at Nicks Hidden Cottages for the same price. They suggested that the rooms at Hidden Cottages are more expensive.

A nice gesture? Hardly. We booked to stay on Hanoman with good reason, which is much more central and close to cafes etc than Hidden Cottages (there is a clue in the name here!). Also, you pay the same price through hostelworld for a room at the Homestay as you pay for a walk in rate at their supposedly more expensive establishment (as a guest was quoted whilst we were checking in at Hidden Cottages).

This 'service' is unacceptable. Either honour a hostelworld booking or don't take advantage of the premium rates non-walking in guests pay for this booking service. They did not even bother to offer to take us to the Hidden Cottages. We had to make our own way there, and then lug our bags across a long path just to get to reception.

We stayed for 4 nights at Nick's Homestay. We booked online and on arrival the room was double booked, so we got a free upgrade to a bigger room. The room and bathroom were very clean! The staff is very friendly and can arrange all kinds of transports and tours for you. They even have their own laundry service. The compound isn't big and some people actually live here, which gives it a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.

Best we have to stayed in so far in Bali. Perfect price for given quality and service! Only downside were the cockerels in the morning... Next time in Ubud I will definitely stay here again!

We checked into nicks homestay for 5 nights.

We weren't disappointed. The rooms are big and we had our own bathroom and they get cleaned everyday.

The gardens were well maintains and staff were lovely when arranging tours they were super helpful too.

Prime location in centre of ubud, lovely restaurants on jl hanomon which is where the homestay is located. Walking distance to monkey forest too!

Breakfast is included and tea/coffee too.

Totally recommend this place :) they also have a pool at one of the sister sites however didn't visit it but it is free for guests to use!

Really nice place to stay. Pretty close to city center, clean (basic) rooms in a great garden setting. Lots of beautifull flowers, butterflies and birds. Staff is friendly and attentive. All in all: great place for great price, I would go back anytime!!
