it is true that the room itself isn't in the best of shapes
but everything worked including the wifi (not something i can say for much of the island)
and they tried their best to make it look pretty
i was exhausted (physically and mentally) when i arrived
and the view made it all worth it for me
skip the bathtub and the massage
and just sit on the balcony and soak in all that green

My wife and I spent 5 days at the hotel while touring central and eastern Bali with a driver and guide. The spacious rooms are marvelous and very romantic--each with a private terrace decorated with carved Balinese wall panels, comfortable chairs, an incredible view, with the distant roar of the river below, and a table at which to enjoy your complimentary breakfast. We enjoyed the food so much we ate several dinners on our room's terrace. The staff was exceptionalty friendly and helpful. Very quite and off the beaten path. I must admit that I hesitate to advertise it's charms because it is such a hidden gem.
Incidentally, our tour was provided by Putu with Jivan Tours. We very highly recommend his services.

The views from our private terrace were amazing, we always had the lovely little swimming pool all to ourselves, and the breakfasts were delish, brought to your veranda for no extra charge. The service was great - the staff helped us to book all the tourist activities we were interested in doing and recommended a really good cookery class. The room was romantic and nicely furnished, and they brought us a bowl of exotic fruits as a welcome gift. I loved the outside shower - it was bliss! We were so glad to be staying out of the centre of Ubud, which is noisy, touristy and hassly, and to retreat in the evenings to a nice quiet green place. Also, the price was very reasonable.

I found this hotel overrated to say the least. Stayed in a "luxury room" that was very very very substandard. The shower almost a faucet in the wall. A long way out of Ubud. Woken at 0630 by a group of children playing soccer - noone interupted them. The view is to die for however.
