We found our stay here quite comfortable.Landscaping on a hilly/sloppy terrain is appreciable.If one is knowledgeable about Hindu mythology, he/she will find the landscaping still more interesting as they have nicely utilized Hindu mythological icons/figures such as statues of Ganesha , Saraswati , Ghatotkacha and Garuda, for beautification in the lush green forest type environment. Its really splendid.
We are vegetarians.On our request,the hotel staff instantanously manged nice local food"Nasi Goreng" , [ without any non-veg item in it] with lots of vegetables, at no extra cost. This hospitability of the staff, we will never forget , a wonderful feeling.

One of my favourite places I've ever stayed. Feels like you're surrounded by jungle; one of the best best things was sitting outside on our verandah during the daily big rainstorm and just enjoying the sound and sight of the rain. As soon as the rain finished (this was in March) the sun would come out and everything would dry off; it never really got in our way at all. We loved the pool here and ordering room service for breakfast was such a treat. The Balinese pancakes are to die for.

Service was great; shuttle service was convenient, and the walk into town (15 minutes) was really pleasant and peaceful. You can go through the Monkey Forest or go around the outside; both were really nice walks.

No-one in my family wanted to leave.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like taking a step into paradise. We were greeted with a gong on arrival followed by a cool towel and a welcome drink (a little Yukky). The check-in process was a little disjointed but 'what the hey!' we were on holidays in a foreign country, so we just went with the flow. The journey down the hill to our room, was a series of steps of various angles and heights going up and down, until we arrived at our 2 bedroom River Villa. Our villa was a disappointment to me (as I chose this hotel) and it wasn't what I had imagined, as it was barely big enough to house 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, The stairs going to the up stairs room were also at a scarey angle. The outdoor bathroom was beautiful, but the 2 single bed downstairs were not comfortable at all. The view was great, if you blocked out the construction site, and the naked locals taking baths and doing their toileting in the river. But none the less, a topic for conversation. The local kids have a ball playing and fishing in the river and that's a lot of fun to see. The pool occupied most of our time and the pool bar was actively used. We ate at the resort for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner several times and had no complaints about the food or the service. All the staff made an effort to be friendly and helpful and they were always up for a chat. The prolific vegetation is amazing, all the different trees and bushes and the colourful blooms, were a sight to see... though my husband got tagged by a falling palm frond, we now know to duck for cover on hearing a crack followed by rustling up in the air (a Bali experience). This place is 3 stars, it is fairly cheap to stay at, and I would consider it a small piece of affordable paradise and would encourage anyone on a budget to stay here, however I don't believe the river villas are suitable for young kids. So over all my only real complaint and the reason I have not given an 'excellent' rating - would be that the singles beds were uncomfortable - but this is also our fault for not complaining to the management and having that dealt with. I love the Bali Spirit.

Had a great experience, rooms were spacious, aesthetically very appealing. Restaurant had great breakfast options. This js also very close to the Ubud market, palace etc.
