We stayed for two nights at Villa Semana and it was just beautiful. Everything was of the highest quality. Beautiful villa, lovely attentive staff, fresh wholesome food and amazing massages at the spa. This was the most romantic part of our 2 week holiday to Bali. Thank you to everyone at Villa Semana

the villa semana is located in a peaceful part of ubud with river view and paddy field view rooms. It has about 10 villas with each villa having an attached mini swimming pool. it is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. The Swiss owner takes personal interest in the operations of the villa and it reflects in the high quality of service and facilities at Semana. We had a memorable weekend at the Villa Semana and would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy beautiful Ubud.

Since me n wife is muslim we had some questions about food etc.What impressed me at first was their quick respond to our emails. If u have any enquiry contact them with email. On the day of arrival we were greeted by the lush paddy field and the villa overlooking the river is amazing. We were greeted by the owner when we went to dinner, and most of staff knows your name makes me and wife feelvery welcomed. The toilet needs a little improvement, the drain of our tub wasnt working smoothly so the water takes some time to drain out. The flush does need to be pressed abit longer to get the full flush but not too serious. There is no tv, which i dont mind but i hope that the hotel can provide fast internet for each villa. I like to lounge with my ipad so the internet speed is kinda poor to average. All in all We had a very enjoyable experience. If you are looking for something private, with amazing view, hospitable host head to semana. Regards from Malaysia.

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas to relax in the hills and explore Ubud. We had been doing the beach thing immediately previously at Nusa Dua, and found the beach and rice fields combination a good mix.

Villa Semana is a small boutique hotel. Every room is a private villa: we had one with a covered courtyard / outdoor lounge area, plunge pool, bedroom, bathroom and outdoor shower. The Villa was well maintained and tastefully appointed in Balinese style. We had plenty of space and a view over the rice fields: in sum a great place to relax.

We found the staff very professional and attentive, following the luxury small hotel concept which seems to be a mix of the professionalism of a large 5 star hotel combined with the personal touch of a small business. The owner was staying at the hotel while we were there, and checked up with us at breakfast each morning to see how we were enjoying our stay. He gave us lots of helpful tips about the area and how to get the best out of our time, including recommendations for hikes and the best restaurants in the area.

Its a 10 to 15 minute drive from the Hotel into the center of Ubud, and the Hotel has a regular, comfortable service to shuttle guests back and forward. They were very flexible with this, and happy to pick up and drop-off at specific locations, making it very easy to get about.

It was a great place to stay for 3 nights, and given its price point Villa Semana definitely deserves a 5 rating. There are resorts in Bali further up the luxury curve in terms of design, food and service, but they are also further up the price curve as well!
