I love the swimming pool and the food. The furniture and facility is old and the aircon was bad and very noisy when I was staying here in standard room. Fortunately, after I complaining about this, I was given family room. The location is perfect since it is not far from the beach. Comparing to the price with the facility, I prefer to find another hotel

I chose this hotel due to previous positive reviews. I was not disappointed at all. Yes there is a very busy road to cross to get to the beach but with some patience i discovered i could manouveur it very well after my first attempt.
I stayed at the Puri Dalem for three nights in July and was very pleased. I booked on line with expedia so got an excellent rate (below $30US per night). The room was spacious and a/c with a TV (not that i watched TV). The bali breakfast is simple but was complimentary and they will cook you a more western b/f on request at no extra charge.
While i did not find the reception staff woman very friendly everyone else i encountered was !!! and also very very helpful and accommodating.
The level of cleanliness in the rooms is not 5 star but i did not feel i was in danger of catching any mysterious illness!
Two fabulous pools!! hardly a person in them. I did take the free shuttle to the sister hotel Besikah - but to be honest their two pools aren't as big and were crowded. But the Shuttle is great if you want to go hang out along the Beach Front and eat in any of the numerous lovely restaurants there.
If beach front is your thing there are a couple of places with pools offering standard rooms for Rp650,000 (start price).....but really i don't think you can go past the relaxed atmosphere of the Puri Dalem, and just walk or shuttle to the beach if you want to .

Small bungalows in a park, with two swimming pools. Front desk staff is a bit sour, restaurant and cleaning staff friendly. Breakfast is below average and juices come at an extra 10000 rp which i don't like. Room and beds are clean, incl AC, fridge, TV and a little patio. Make sure to get a room as far to the back as possible and you'll be fine. The front side is at a busy road and the crossing a bit of a jungle. 5 min walk to the beach or free shuttle service. Good budget location for day trippin' but I can't understand why you would return here 5 times to spend your Hols like some other reviewer wrote. Restaurant was very mediocre and I would recommend to take a hike to the beach side and get something better
