“Beautiful hotel - a taste of paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had 3 nights here as a stopover en route to New Zealand. Perfect! Beautiful beachside location with superb tropical gardens. The staff were very courteous and gracious - even the gardeners would stop and greet you, no matter how busy they were! Breakfast was very good with freshly cooked eggs and crepes etc and a wonderful selection of everything. We never moved outside the hotel grounds as it was so relaxing to lounge around on huge wicker beach beds under the shady palm trees or use the pools which were quite exotic. Our second floor room was very clean and cool with a little balcony overlooking the lush gardens, full of birds and squirrels. I had a go on the hotel's kayaks which were free to use. The bay was calm and shallow, very safe for children. We had arranged in the UK for a transfer to and from the airport which was good as it was chaotic at the airport and we were hustled for taxis and porterage all the time. Our drivers gave us chilled bottles of water and cool towels which were so refreshing after a long flight. All in all it was a wonderful place to chill out in between long haul flights.

“Beautiful beach front but outdated rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

First time to Sanur and we were very excited becuase as far as I could see this resort seemed to be one of the best in this area. Overall what sold us on staying here was the beach front and it did not disappoint. We believed it had the best beach front out of all of the resorts in Sanur, with lots of beach day beds, sun lounges and even two floating pavilions (we saw that no other resort had this).

The pools were very good, nice and big and we stayed in a Club Room so had the use of the 'private' pool which was also very nice and big. Gardens around the resort were immaculant and staff were constantly gardening to keep these up to standard.

The buffet breakfast is fantastic, one of the best I've had - such a large variety, along with offering afternoon tea which was also nice.

However I was very disappointed with the Club Room - I had read and seen that this was the best room to book and stay in as they were the nicest but for what we paid I dont believe it was worth it. The best thing about it is that you get use of the private club rooms pool (which isn't really that private) and they are in a nice quiet area. The room itself was very disappointing - very outdated. I was dissappointed as what we were given is different to all the pictures on the internet and we feel we didn't get what we paid for. In saying this the room was quite spacious and we had the top floor which was better as you had a nice view of the pool and gardens.
The bed was horribly hard along with the pillows - I couldn't sleep properly the whole 5 nights we were there which is not what you want on a holiday. Also the air con was so old it made the loudest noise constantly.
Also another downer on this was when we were checking out they were very rude and hadn't booked in our airport transfer which I had confirmed on booking and when we arrived. They also faulsy accused us & billed us for taking from the mini bar - this was eventually resolved.

Overall we did enjoy our stay here and all the staff were very friendly (other than the last day). It is worth staying here for the pools and beach front. Make sure you hire a bike either from the beach or out the front of the hotel so you can ride around, its a nicer way to travel and you will see alot more.

I would only consider staying here again if they were to update the rooms - I dont believe they are worth it at the price we paid. We could have paid alot less at another hotel for something much nicer.

“great experience”

We stayed in the Premier Deluxe room which was wonderful. It was modern, very big for a family of four we had ample room with a day bed outside. It was in a great location, the kids fed the fish every day in one of the ponds. The food was great in the hotel. Great white chocolate Martini's on the beach front, with a funky dj on a sat night, it was very hip. The pool was lovely. There was no kids club, but our kids didn't seem to mind, there was enough to keep them amused. There was jetskiing on the beach $25 for 15 mins. The hotel has paddles to use. Overall the hotel was very clean, modern. The best Resort in Sanur, everything else is very dated and tired, this hotel has a similar feel to those in Seminyak. Its in a good location to venture out every day and go to get a massage, ice cream or shop and experience the different restaurants.

“Gardens are stunning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We only had a 1 night stay here before catching the "scoot" over to Nusa Lembogan the following day. We arrived late in the evening, like 1am and were offered a welcome drink and a cool towel which was nice, but the time that they took to check us in was just a little too long as we just wanted to get into bed, but eventually fell into bed and crashed.
My thoughts and feelings on this place are a little dissapointing. The rooms are all in need of a major reno and was shocked to say that there were no safes in this room. As we were there for only 1 night this was not really a problem, but if I was staying any longer this would of become a problem, as I feel alot safer with my passports/money in a locked safe and these days even through some of Europe and USA you will find that most hotels will offer this facility.
Breakfast was just average with alot of flies around the food. As we have done alot of travelling this also dissapointed us that the variety was just not there for the price that we paid for the night. We did have something to eat, but would we stay here again, probably not. The grounds around the hotel are immaculant and they could not be faulted in anyway. We also found that the staff that we dealt with were also very friendly - but in Bali what do you expect - the Balinese are such humble people anyway so the service is always the best whilst in Bali.
