“Grows on you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Our first return to Bali since a disaapointing holiday in Seminyak. We wanted to avoid the greater Kuta area this time and eventually settled on Sanur. We were very happy with the choice after our stay in Sanur, it has a great small town feeling but you are still reasonably close to the main parts of Bali.

The Bali Hyatt itself is a fairly mature resort. The first time you wander the red brick paths to your room can be quite worrying: The grey concrete facades on the resort reminds you of an WW2 military structure abandoned to the jungle. The rooms are smalish & dated. Additionaly, as many reviewers already pointed out, there is a dampness to the bedsheets caused by the aircon. Al helpful room cleaner provided an de-humidifier that fixed the dampness on the second day. We got a good deal on the room rate so were fairly unconcerned by these issues.

Breakfast is great, particulalry considering it is part of the package. Great food and a good selection. The two omelette makers cope with the huge demand very well. Staff are numerous and helpful.
Food and drinks elsewhere in the resort is good but IMO over-priced by a good 20% at least. Unless you are unconcerned by cost then you will no doubt find yourself wandering down the beach boardwalk in search of a cheaper venue for your dinner (my tip: turn right at the beach and head for the nearby bamboo restaurant, for a special occasion meal headfor the nearby Charming restaurant which is on the main street). Also note that there areno kids meals on the room service menu.

Despite all this we found ourselves settling in and very much enjoying our stay at the location. The beach is great for kids. Riding down the boardwalk was great fun. The pools are decent enough, if they installed a small water slide they would have been much better for families. There is enough going on in town to make for an enjoyable time spent wandering through. Hawkers are present but pretty relaxed.

We would certainly return to Sanur. The area matched our expectations of a great holiday in Bali. I would be happy to return to the Bali Hyatt too as it was great value.

Enjoyable stay, lovely staff, relaxing gardens. Recommend the Regency Club. Ignore negative reviews from people too far up their own backsides....

Dissapointing when a 5 star property such as the Hyatt Sanur, doesn't respond to any emails of a critique nature ..I have just sent another one off, lets see if a response is received now... otherwise I will have to air my "critique" on this site....

“Perfect Wedding and Holiday Spot <3”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We have just returned from Bali for our wedding. I will write a little review on both for anyone that is ever thinking of a Bali wedding.

The Hyatt is stunning, its gardens are second to none, and the private clean beach front is the best in Bali. Yes its dated, it was built over forty years ago, and is closing down at the end of the year for 12 months for a complete renovation. But it is very 'balinese' comfortable and clean. We had around 40 people stay there with us for our wedding, and they have not stopped talking about it. The pool bar was our usual hang out as they do great food, the staff are all so friendly and helpfull. Buffet breakfast every day has lots of options. It is in a great spot in Sanur, walking distance to everything.

As for a wedding venue it couldn't have been more perfect. I studied hard before choosing this venue, and so glad that we did. After meeting the co-ordinator and having a walk through we were sold and booked a date for 12 months after. The co-ordinator Mery organised everything, and they got every last detail of what we imagined. Beautifull set up on the beach for both the ceremony and reception, so romantic, our guests said it was the best wedding that we have ever been too.
We were lucky enought to be given a Regency CLub suite for the wedding night and the rest of the trip and it was amazing! I cant thank Mery and the general manager Thor enough for their hospitality, cant wait to return!

Room Tip: We had the ocean

Stayed at the Bali Hyatt Hotel in Sanur thinking well it is the Hyatt and I do like a good, clean hotel somewherew to just unwind and be spoilt a bit :)
What we got was a very dated hotel and dated furnishings the prices were typical of the Hyatt chain and felt that we could of got better value for our dollar at many of the other places on offer if I had research my accomadation a bit better
Having siad that the gardens are absoultly fantastic well maintained and lovely to just get lost in so many diffent plants wildlife and a huge fish pond in the gardens it was great
The staff were very freindly and could not do enough to help you with your needs
Overall nice hotel great gardens great staff in a quite location
